Job Purpose
The SAP Material Planning Manager will ensure that strategic material planning strategies and processes are in place and working effectively to enable operational and production continuity. Contributes to the creation and implementation of best practices, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance. Oversees and manages all planning activities related to materials management and support services for NAM Subsea Projects.
Work schedule:
Hyrbid. Monday, Wednesday, Thursdays in office. Tuesdays and Fridays remote. Candidates will need to be flexible to work from both of our ET3 and Gremp locations.
Job Description
Manage, coach and develop a large high performing team (20+ direct reports both is Houston and Mexico City) that meets agreed objectives and deliver best practice results, added value and continuous improvements.Ensure that effective systems are in place and that data is accurate and up to date to resolve any issues as required.Ensure that material sourcing strategy and processes are in place and work effectively to ensure material supply meets project requirements with minimum stock levels, whilst optimizing costs.Investigate and implement system enhancement initiatives.Seek and recommend solutions to overcome issues to meet project requirements and address operational risks.Responsible for department budgetsComplete monthly headcount forecasts based off projected Project forecasts.Liaison with the Global partners across the business on improvement initiatives and to standardize on processes and procedures where possible across the business units.Regularly interfaces with Materials department, Engineering, Fabrication and Project teams when making decisions requiring judgment or resolving issues requiring creative solutionsSupport inventory analyses, and able to make stocking plan decisions based on such analyses.You are meant for this job if:
BS in related field preferred, or equivalent years of experience.Minimum of 5 years of management or supervisory experience.Generally, 10+ years of experience performing inventory analysis, supply/demand analysis and reconciliation, and/or manufacturing scheduling in materials planning, scheduling, production control or procurement with in-depth understanding of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems (SAP Preferred).Experience with S4 HANA a plusExcellent analytical, communication, organizational, planning, time management and problem-solving skills.Proven record in successfully leading and improving business processes in an international matrix environmentThorough knowledge of typical procurement, manufacturing and fabrication processes.Highly skilled communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externallyUnderstands BOM structures and supply/demand information related to sales order items.Demonstrates strong organizational, interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills.Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume environment.PC skills including proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing applications.Experience with P6 and PowerBI a plus.Travel up to 25% (Multiple locations to include Mexico City)Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without restriction. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office environment with frequent trips to the shop, supplier or Fabricator facilities and other plant locations. Some exposure to possible shop and Fabrication yard hazards including high noise, heavy machinery and shop traffic. Fast paced environment with repetitive transactions. Multiple priorities and constant change.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Frequent walking and standing in shop or fabricator facility during project stages. Frequent sitting and operating PC.
