Our client, a national construction products manufacturer, is looking for a Plant Manager. The Plant Manager oversees all plant operations, including safety, quality, service, productivity, administration, and financial performance. Responsibilities include employee development, staffing, project management, and preparing the annual operating budget. As the primary liaison between the corporate office and the plant, the Plant Manager develops the facility's culture, leads operations by adhering to the company's core values, and sets goals to achieve corporate and regional objectives.
Position Overview:
The Plant Manager will oversee all aspects of plant operations, including production, maintaining quality standards, managing costs, and ensuring safety and compliance. The Plant Manager will also drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhance employee engagement, and support the company's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Team Management : Lead a team across various departments (production, maintenance, quality, safety, CI, etc.). Develop a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.Safety and Compliance : Ensure that all plant operations are in compliance with safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Lead safety programs and promote a culture of safety throughout the plant.Operational Management : Oversee daily plant operations to ensure production goals are met efficiently. Develop and implement strategies to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity.Performance and Development : Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish targets for plant performance. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and support the professional development of direct reports.Budget and Cost Control : Develop and manage the plant budget, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality or safety. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.Quality Assurance : Collaborate with the quality team to maintain high standards of product quality. Implement and manage quality assurance processes and address any issues promptly.Continuous Improvement : Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including lean manufacturing, process optimization, and other best practices to enhance plant performance.Communication and Reporting : Maintain effective communication with senior management, direct reports, and plant staff. Prepare and present reports on plant performance, including production metrics, safety, quality, and cost management.Qualifications:
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in plant or manufacturing management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience overseeing 100+ employees and managing multiple direct reports.Demonstrated experience in operational planning, budgeting, and performance management.In-depth knowledge of production management, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.Proven ability to drive change and lead improvement initiatives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Knowledge of safety regulations, quality management systems, and relevant industry standards.Working Conditions:
This position requires a presence on the plant floor, with occasional travel to other facilities or company locations.Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and wearing personal protective equipment as required.
Salary range: $120,000-180,000 + 20% bonus tied to plant performance
