SUMMARY

As directed, leads and coordinates and performs the daily support operations of a single clinical area. Performs various departmental tasks which may include patient and provider appointment scheduling, patient flow, clinical reception, area ambiance, and clinican support. Ensures that work unit meets performance standards and identifies and recommends solutions to operational barriers. Serves as local point person for department providers and staff. May assist with development, monitoring and management of department budgets.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit required. Associate's Degree preferred. American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) is strongly preferred if the job is in a patient-facing clinical capacity. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.

EXPERIENCE

Requires knowledge of medical support functions in an ambulatory care setting, typically acquired through 3 years in a medical support role (e.g., medical assistant) in an outpatient facility.

SKILLS

Excellent interpersonal skills needed with the ability to interact effectively with patients and medical professionals at all levels. Ability to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. Leadership potential. The position requires the individual to be a Medical Assistant and will be split 50% MA and 50% administrative.
