Position Summary

The Shift Leader assists in inspiring and developing their team, upholding Luna Grill's high standards, and providing exceptional guest service and awareness to ensure the guests of Luna Grill will become "Raving Fans". Will be responsible for running a great shift by providing leadership and guidance in utilization of training tools to the Cashiers and assist the manager as needed.

Essential Responsibilities

Provides knowledge to cashiers and team trainers and empowers the team to provide great guest service and awarenessAssists with training of team membersInforms guest(s) of LTO's and menu changes and makes recommendations accordingly.Demonstrates knowledge of the brand and menu items by answering questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and servicesTakes guest's food orders and handle cash and credit transactions according to standardsWorks with kitchen staff to meet any special requirements for ingredients and preparation of foodDelivers food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient mannerPerforms side work at the start and end of each shift as required and checks team members our of position if scheduled as MODMaintains cleanliness, organization, and mise en place in the service area, dining room and restroomsMonitors and observe guest's dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requestsThanks guest for their visit and invite them to returnDelegates tasks to front of the house team regarding day-to-day operationsAssists with counting inventory and entering into the computer systemAssists with morning admin duties, bank runs, DBR, placing and invoicing Sysco/beer/wineAssists with training new front of the house team membersEnsures restaurant is running efficiently while Manager is absentAttends all schedule team member meetings/training and brings suggestions for improvementsTakes necessary meal and rest breaks accordinglyClocks in and out of the restaurant in a timely mannerAppropriately tends to guests using the BLAST methodTakes necessary meal and rest breaks accordinglyManagers must adhere to Rest & Meal PolicyOther duties maybe assigned

Education/Experience Requirements

One (1) year restaurant experience preferred and or team management/supervisorial; Luna Grill experience is ideal. High School Diploma Required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must represent Luna Grill's 12 Characteristics as outline in the Team Member Handbook.Possess and instill high quality standards for production and guest service. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.Detail oriented, organized and efficient.Safety-minded. Effective communication skills.Courteous, friendly, and professional manner. Ability to work productively with minimal supervision.Trustworthy and reliable. Possess excellent basic math skills and have the ability to operate a cash register or POS system. Computer literate using Microsoft Office.Bi-lingual in English and Spanish preferred - must be able to communicate (speak, read, write) in the primary language of the work location.Physical Demands/Work Environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Stands/walks continuously (up to 5 hours) through the shift. Frequent bending, bend and twist neck and waist, reach above and below shoulders and squat, use hands, reaching or grasping with hands and arms, and be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Must be able to work under pressure and be flexible to work irregular hours including weekends and holidays.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Must comply with Company's Appearance and Dress Code standard as set forth in the Team Member Handbook. Works primarily indoors in temperature-controlled, clean, and well-lighted environment. Makes frequent trips to kitchen, where air may be moist, warm, and odorous from cooking foods. Kitchen floors are uneven, and may be slippery from moisture and grease.
