Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, TJU-CC (AVP), Development Associate will be responsible for supporting the TJU Center City team with day-to-day support, focusing on the ongoing engagement of alumni and benefactors. This individual will work closely with other major gift officers to maintain the flow of information highlighting TJU priorities to benefactors and alumni and provide support as needed. The Development Associate will coordinate and be the internal point of contact for projects as assigned centered on key TJU fundraising strategies, including but not limited to stewardship and communication pieces.

As a key member of the Office of Institutional Advancement and University fundraising team, the Development Associate will be responsible for working with a small portfolio of benefactors from an assigned regional territory. They will maintain and manage this portfolio in a manner that fosters a relationship that leads to philanthropic commitment. In addition the Development Associate will work closely with other TJU major gift officers on qualification and outreach.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

In collaboration with the Vice President, and AVP, the Development Associate will support the day-to-day priorities of TJU and develop a comprehensive understanding of a major gifts plan to support the University and its priorities.Personally maintain a portfolio of individual gift prospects, based on an assigned regional territory and key individuals as assigned, maintaining frequent and consistent contact with prospects, faculty leaders and volunteers, and key members of Jefferson's administrative leadership. Maintain and manage this portfolio in a manner that fosters a relationship that leads to philanthropic commitment.The Development Associate will collaborate with OIA colleagues to development stewardship and communication collateral and strategy that will help further the flow of information to benefactors and alumni.Responsibility for strategy execution and the achievement of defined performance goals.Manage a prospect pool of 50+ individualsConduct a minimum of 125 Meaningful Donor Encounters per yearGenerate 2 proposal per month > $2,500 (minimum 24/yr)Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson

OTHER FUNCTIONS AND COMPETENCIES needed in addition to Essential Functions:

Work with Jefferson's events staff and development officers to maximize major gifts efficiently and utilization of special events and other activities to cultivate and steward major gifts prospects and donors.Ability to develop trust and collaborative working relationships with colleagues in OIA and across the organization.Utilize prospect management guidelines set forth by the department and implement tactical strategies set in conjunction with Director of Development and Vice President, TJU.Willingness to travel to regions of the country outside of the Philadelphia metropolitan area, attend alumni events, and serve as an ambassador for TJU to the alumni community.Experience with fundraising database software systems and Microsoft Office. Excellent oral, written, and communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with both internal and external constituencies.Ability to articulate, both written and orally a compelling case for major philanthropic support for University programs, presenting objectives persuasively to potential donors.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of professional experience required.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION :

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

0 to 2 years of direct or related fundraising experience of direct or related fundraising experience, preferably with experience in a health related or educational institution.Fundraising experience in the area of individual gifts development, annual or corporate and foundation giving is desirable. Familiarity with planned giving concepts is a plus.Prospect qualification and cold call experience is preferred.Conditions of Employment

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University.
