Summary:

This role will be working in a manufacturing facility and reporting to the Corporate Safety Director. This position will be responsible for assisting in development and implementation of new safety projects and programs.

Responsibilities:Report to Corporate Safety Director and perform tasks as directed with the highest level of transparencyAssist in development and implementation of new safety projects and programsDevelop and maintain all training programs and safeguards for new equipment/processResearch and procure items needed for plant safety improvementsOrganize and maintain all new hire safety training and compliance acknowledgmentsConduct and maintain all annual training, including forklift driving certifications, first-aid certifications, LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) certifications, etc)Understand and reference all applicable OSHA regulationsEnsure plant is OSHA compliantFamiliarity with all other AHJ (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) is imperative to maintain applicable compliance (NFPA, ANSI, NEC, NIOSH, etc.)Enforce compliance of PPE and all other safe work practices to promote a positive and lasting Safety CultureKeep plant stocked with proper safety supplies and PPEPerform monthly plant safety audits and maintain all regulated frequent inspectionsVerify routine equipment inspections are properly conducted and compliance is maintained in all areas of the plant by all employeesEnsure all safeguards are in place and working properlyEnsure all workstations and tasks are free of hazardsConduct and report all incident investigationsDetermine root cause and corrective plansFirst Aid response and treatment for employee injuriesTransport injured workers to seek medical treatment when neededGuide employees through the workers compensation process alongside plant HRMaintain records and facilitate all restrictionsAccurate and concise record keeping of all safety related documents and processesIncluding but not limited to training records, SOPS, SDS, and OSHA abatement documents.Qualifications:

3-5 years experience4 year or equivalent degree in mechanical or mechanical engineering technology, Fire Protection Safety Engineering technology, Environmental health and safety sciences etc.Self-starter and with solid communicationManufacturing experience preferredFocus on process improvement and lean related principles (Kaizen, 5/6 S, 6 Sigma, etc.)Benefits:

Salary:
