Job Description

Dewberry's Lakeland FL office is seeking a Project Manager to lead MEPS Infrastructure teams designing electrical, mechanical, and structural systems on Water/Wastewater projects. Role includes interfacing both with internally led engineering teams and marketing directly to external clients/owners. The successful candidate should have experience specifying, designing, and implementing electrical power systems. Passion for water/wastewater infrastructure is a must.

You will be joining a team of highly skilled, experience, and dedicated electrical professionals focused on designing reliable and resilient electrical infrastructure for water and wastewater facilities in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Colorado, and Florida. At Dewberry you will expand your technical knowledge in electrical distribution, motor controls, SCADA, and power system studies as you execute a full range of services to shape water infrastructure that services your communities. In addition to traditional W/WW designs you will also assist in developing the way renewables energy is utilized by our clients in meeting their decarbonization and electrification goals.

Responsibilities

* Manage electrical, mechanical, and structural design teams on a variety of water/wastewater infrastructure projects for public utility and private clients.* Manage planning, design, and construction phase projects while interfacing and coordinating with other engineering disciplines, technicians, inspectors, and permitting specialists.* Coordinate with Design Discipline Managers to schedule, plan and assign appropriate personnel.* Effectively understand and communicate project expectations to MEPS Infrastructure project team and Client (both internal and external).* Prepare design proposals, support project pursuits, and engage in client management and business development activities.* Employ earned value and quality management principles to prepare and monitor project work plans, schedule, and budget. Oversee deliverable submission and ensure coordination through all disciplines and consultants involved.* Contribute to the continued growth of MEPS Infrastructure through attending conferences, supporting articles professional publications, and actively participating in State and/or National professional associations through committee involvement and technical presentations.

Required Skills & Required Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.* 7+ years of progressive design and project management experience, minimum 4+ years in the water/wastewater market.* Accomplished Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, or ability to obtain them through reciprocity within 90 days of start date.* Experience coordinating engineering work and interfacing with other disciplines as needed.* Experience interfacing with clients.* Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.* Well organized, with good understanding of electrical, mechanical, and process control systems with general knowledge of applicable codes, national standards, water/wastewater equipment and plant operation, space requirements, and cost.
