Amazon Advertising builds next-generation solutions that enable advertisers to reach customers across our owned and operated sites, on other high-quality publisher sites across the web, and on millions of desktops, mobile, and connected TV devices. Our mission is to offer the world’s most customer-centric advertising. Amazon DSP (ADSP) is Amazon’s programmatic advertising product for campaign spanning Display, Video, and Audio across Amazon properties (e.g., Amazon.com, IMDb TV, Twitch, Fire TV, and Amazon Music) and tens of thousands of third-party (3P) websites and apps.

We are the ADSP Cornerstone bidder team that builds and manages systems with extreme high performance and availability. Our systems serve and respond to hundreds of billions of requests daily from ad slots on both Amazon and non-Amazon properties and across all delivery channels viz. Display, Online Video, Streaming TV Video, Digital Signs etc., We are continuously growing across all channels while maintaining response latencies in the milliseconds and meeting strict SLA requirements. We delight in data, and are constantly enriching our models and make more informed decisions using every bit and byte we have. Our current systems serve our current needs, but we are growing new Streaming TV Ad opportunities both within and outside Amazon’s properties like Prime Video, Freevee etc.,, and are looking for hands on leaders and developers that can design and build solutions that will take us into the future.

We are looking for SDE who is excited about building global, internet scale, highly reliable, highly available, low latency systems. They will be highly impactful with their overall operational excellence influence for the organization. They will work closely with a talented team of Software Development Engineers(SDEs) and Principal Engineers(PEs) to design and implement features, develop robust automation solutions that enhances the team's ability to continuously and reliably deliver value to our advertisers and customers. They will innovate solutions that decreases the overall maintenance and operational overhead of our software systems. The ideal candidate for our team is passionate about building solutions to our technical problems and is a motivated self-starter that can work in a fast paced, ambiguous environment with limited supervision. You will have technical curiosity, drive for results, but at the same time embody ownership at the business level and contribute to the product development. You should be able to work directly with your partners, senior engineers and principal engineers to articulate requirements and understand the best path for delivering the needed functionality. You should be able to write clear and maintainable documentation and code, and be familiar with both unit testing and integration testing. You will own the entire suite of tools, from system design to implementation, release, operation, and continuous, iterative improvement. You will use both non-AWS and core AWS technologies. You will effortlessly collaborate across large teams, navigating ambiguous situations, and be customer obsessed. Key job responsibilities

Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to develop, design, and bring to market innovative devices and services

Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry

Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to cutting edge technologies at incredible scale and speed

Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use

About the team

The Bidder team (within Amazon DSP) is an exciting program that is at the heart of the Amazon Ads stack. We own and operates bidding systems and services responsible for assessing and responding to ad opportunities on Owned and Operated properties and 3rd Party Exchanges and Publishers. We are responsible for orchestrating a complete, efficient and effective bid flow to maximize the number of desirable bids. We measure success of advertiser outcomes along key KPIs and bid effectively on behalf of advertisers. Our decisions are grounded in statistics, control feedback loops, and continuous experimentation. We serve and respond to hundreds of billions of requests annually, and have ambitions to grow that number several orders of magnitude, while maintaining response latencies in the milliseconds. We delight in data, and are constantly trying to enrich our models and make more informed decisions using every bit and byte we have.

Basic Qualifications

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
