SUMMARYSupervises Union shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment; plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages the activities of the shop floor, under the direction of the Plant Manager and follow established procedures and approved processes.Supervise all production operations such as machining, processing and assembly.Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders, meet inventoryProcess Optimization:Streamline workflows and eliminate bottlenecks.Identify non-value-added steps and reduce them.Implement lean principles to improve efficiency.Deliver manufactured products in a timely fashion.Identify Training Needs:Understand the organization's mission and goals.Assess workers' performance against these goals.Review customer feedback and performance data to identify skills and knowledge gaps.Develop and Implement Training Programs:Create training programs tailored to diverse learning styles and needs.Consider different delivery methods, such as e-learning, classroom training, and on-the-job learning.Provide Career Development Support:Assist employees in their professional growth and advancement.Track Training and Development Progress:Monitor real-time progressAssess Effectiveness of Training ProgramsEvaluate whether training objectives are met.Make necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.Supervise all bargaining union employees including employee hiring and retention, performance review and discipline.Ensures effective employee relations; provides employee coaching and development; resolves employee issues through problem resolution.Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas; works to continuously improve in all areas.Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager and performs accident investigations.Performs other duties as assigned.RequirementsBachelor's degree in business management, Business Administration, or related field required. Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of 10 years of previous leadership experience.SAP Experience preferred.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee frequently is required to walk and is occasionally required to stand.Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds with reasonable accommodation.The noise levels in the work environment it usually moderate.
