Network EngineerResidency in Michigan and regular onsite work are mandatory requirements for this positionNo option for relocationCandidates must have the legal right to work in the United States, and no visa sponsorship or support is provided for this roleThe IT Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and troubleshooting solutions in a complex LAN/WAN network environment. The network engineer will install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, and other LAN/WAN hardware and software.

Candidates must have Juniper JunOS experience, professional Cisco and FiberSwitch experience, and must be team players who are eager to learn

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field experience.4+ years of experience working with LAN/WAN/FC and server/storage/network operations.Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.Working knowledge of Juniper & Cisco switches and routersMust have experience with Juniper JunOSWorking knowledge of network protocols and technologies, such as DNS, DHCP, RSTP, OSPF and firewall management.Working knowledge of fibre channel switching (Cisco & Brocade)Working knowledge of Fibre Channel architecture, optics, cabling, layers, sequences, exchanges, FC protocols.Working knowledge of Microsoft, Linux, and/or Unix operating systems.Basic understanding of virtualization technology.Basic understanding of Cloud network connectivity.Industry certification or equivalent experience is preferred.Ability to lift 60 lbs and climb ladders for overhead cabling is required.Must have professional Cisco and FiberSwitch experienceMust be a team player that is eager to learnDuties and Responsibilities Include:

Design, configure, deploy, and monitor LAN/WAN networks.Maintain network security, providing access and restriction control as per organizational policies.Design, configure, deploy, firewall/VPN technology/P2P.Work with multi-vendor environments, hardware & software support (Juniper & Cisco)Install and maintain hardware and software for LAN/WAN/FC networks.Install network cabling including RJ45 Ethernet, Fiber and COAX installation on overhead cable trays, punch down blocks and patch panels.Analyze and troubleshoot network performance issues.Create and document network policies, procedures, and processes.Provide technical support internally and for customer base.Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and industry associates.Work closely with Network Manager to document pre-planned or emergency maintenance using change management policy and procedures.Respond to customer inquiries and tickets by email and by phone.Physical installation including cabling, of servers, firewalls, network hardware and other equipment in company and customer racks within the data center and other customer locations within SE Michigan.Monitor and respond to network alerts.Available outside of business hours to provide on-site support for scheduled data center maintenance.Perform other related duties as assigned.May require on-call duties 24/7.

Compensation: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
