Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Location: Fremont, CA

Reports to: Manufacturing Engineer

Summary

Pebble is looking for our very first Manufacturing Quality Engineer. This role involves developing and implementing robust quality systems and inspection tools to ensure high production standards. Responsibilities include designing measurement technologies, establishing quality inspection strategies, and setting manufacturing methods to meet cosmetic and dimensional specifications. The role requires data analysis to define process and part limits, collaborating with Design, Manufacturing, and Production teams to ensure design and inspection guidelines are aligned.

Responsibilities

Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods that achieve quality specifications at production scaleDevelop and implement quality inspection tools to evaluate cosmetic and dimensional part specifications to improve first pass yieldsCompile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and part specificationsCollaborate with internal and external groups to ensure that proper definition of quality expectations and appropriate assurance techniques are usedLead efforts with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Production teams to ensure design drawings, manufacturing instructions, inspection instructions, tooling are consistent and completeDevelop qualitative metrics and reports that inform internal teams of trends, patterns, or concerns. Submit weekly and monthly reports.Attend quality team meetings and report on trends; suggest solutions where possible.Lead problem-solving teams; use of QA methodologies to manage and facilitate issue resolution including root cause investigations and the development, implementation and monitoring of effective corrective and preventive actionsEstablish and maintain control plans to assure critical features are controlled through the assembly/production processesLead/facilitate review and disposition of discrepant materials identified for control of nonconforming productDevelop Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In Process Quality Control (IPQC), and outgoing Quality Control (OQC) requirements and setting metrics for analyzing performanceHost MRB(Material Review Board) meetings with key stakeholders to determine the disposition of on-hand units in quarantineExperience

3+ years experience in manufacturing quality engineering within the automotive industryExperience in GD&T and Quality systems in a manufacturing environmentExperience in successfully applying quality problem solving methods such as fishbone diagrams, FMEA, process capability and statistical analysis, DoE, etc.Thorough knowledge of QMS and quality control fundamentalsAbility to drive Material Review Board meetings and Non-Conforming Material Reports and executing Supplier Corrective Action Requests and Corrective and Preventative Actions to completionStrong planning, organizational, analytical, negotiation, interpersonal, decision-making, oral, and written communication skillsExperience working in a start-up environment and setting up quality engineering processes from scratchBS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or similar discipline).

Salary Range - Fremont, CA

$108,000-$162,000 USD
