OverviewThe Nutrition Service Ambassador works under the supervision of the Nutrition Service Supervisor/Manager and are at the forefront of customer service, providing patients and guests with service above and beyond expectations to ensure a memorable food and dining experience. Primary responsibilities include direct patient contact, assisting them with the meal ordering process with the use of Room Service software and tablet computers while modeling excellent customer service skills and the assembly and delivery of meals to the patient bedside. Establishes and maintains excellent interpersonal relationships with management, peers and other members of the hospital team.
What you will do
Completes set-up and operation of the patient tray line, assembling patient meals that meet therapeutic nutritional guidelines and accurately follow patient specific tray ticket. Assists with the delivery of early/late trays, delivers food carts to patient units, return carts to kitchen, and the stocking and cleaning of the tray line work stations. Demonstrates the ability to keep work area neat, clean, and in compliance with regulatory standards.Follows standard service protocols as outlined in the Guest Service Training manual. Supports the Department and Clinical teams in providing excellent patient service through achieving timely and accurate snack, nursing unit nourishment and tube feeding production and delivery, meeting the needs of the patient. Ensures all patient food service needs are met in compliance with their diet order/allergy restrictions . Demonstrate positive communication with all team members..Demonstrates the ability to follow therapeutic menus to ensure patients receive consistent, safe, and quality nutritional care within their diet therapy guidelines and as ordered by the physician. Assist others to complete tasks when necessary regardless of assignments.Demonstrated the ability to provide a safe, efficient and supportive environment for the patient. Uses two patient identifiers, and follows all infection control safety guidelines and procedures when delivering or collecting patient trays. Identifies and acts to resolve variances or suspected noncompliance to management.Demonstrates the ability to take patient meal orders using Department Nutrition Software on tablet computers. Demonstrates the ability to re-connect to Wi-Fi on patient units.Engage in the on-boarding initiative by seeking out opportunities to engage new employees so as to reduce turnover. Demonstrates positive interaction and support to all team members to provide seamless, timely, and accurate meal service to the patient/resident/guest.Demonstrates accountability for ensuring availability of information necessary to ensure positive patient/customer outcomes.Demonstrates the ability to complete problem-solving cycle from problem identification to problem resolution to maximize opportunity or minimize problems.Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or GED, (Required)Experience
1 year Experience in the hospitality industry (Required)2 years Previous food service or environmental services experience (Preferred)Licenses and Certifications
