Clickhereto see an inside look at the Texas Comptrollers office About The Division General descriptionJoin the Fiscal Management team as an Information Specialist (Information Specialist III-IV). Performs informational and communications work involving the collection of information to develop, create, and produce content and materials for release to various communications media (broadcast, print, digital, and/or social) and for use by the agency, the general public, and other government agencies. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduated from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree. Experience: Two years of experience managing projects and producing professional graphics, layouts, and illustrations for print and online. Two years of experience using Adobe InDesign. Three years of experience using Microsoft Office products. Preferred Qualifications Preferred Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field. Preferred Experience: Experience with Texas state government publications or communications. Experience creating ADA Section 508 compliant documents to publish online. Substitutions One additional year of experience managing projects and producing professional graphics, layouts and illustrations for print and online may substitute for thirty semester hours of educational requirement with a maximum substitution of 120 semester hours (four years). The job also requires normal ognitive abilities requiring the ability to learn, recall, and apply certain practices and policies. It requires the stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions. Marginal or corrected visual and auditory requirements are required for reading printed materials and computer screens and communicating with internal and external customers. In this role you will: Create, update, and maintain Fiscal Management technical and informational materials within established deadlines using content organization and design skills. Develop, prepare, and disseminate policies and procedures, brochures, training materials and other informational materials. Consult with the web team and subject matter experts in the development of format, graphics, and layout for online publications. Produce and revise technical manuals/guides and apply plain language principles for publications for print and online. Collaborate with subject matter experts, the web team, division and agency management and staff at other state agencies to gather and update information. Review edited materials and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, and content. Ensure the completeness and accuracy of division communications. Creates layouts, designs, and illustrations for division materials, while ensuring accuracy of division communications and ensures section 508 compliance. Plan, coordinate, and manage multiple projects as assigned using project plans, deliverables, documentation, milestones and other tools or resources to achieve positive, high-quality outcomes within established deadlines.
