We are searching for a
Digital Accessibility Program Manager
that will continue to build upon the progress made and collaborate to shape CU Anschutz into a model of digital accessibility. This role serves as the initial point of contact for campus digital accessibility efforts and works with key digital accessibility partners across CU to ensure the university's compliance with HB21-1110 and related legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
Revise and publish campus digital accessibility standards, best practices, and resource information, in collaboration with the Digital Accessibility Partners.
Manage plan showing progress to remove accessibility barriers across inventory of information and communications technology (ICT) including annual status updates demonstrating progress on advancing technology accessibility; steps campus is taking to remove accessibility barriers in ICT; timelines when accessible ICT will be addressed and plan for providing reasonable accommodation and modification in the interim, policies for regularly testing and remediating ICT.
Participate in campus community engagement around digital accessibility needs.
Advocate the importance of accessibility, inclusion, and universal design to stakeholders.
Provide accessibility consultation and requirement development for all ICT.
Serve as a resource with digital accessibility policies, procedures, and standards to meet compliance.
Stay informed of digital accessibility related technology, best practices, and regulations.
Make training and resources readily available to faculty and staff, including a campus website devoted to providing information regarding digital accessibility.
Track and resolve reported accessibility barriers in collaboration with campus partners.
Lead the campus Digital Accessibility Partners collaboration
Monitor regulatory changes and coordinate with regulatory agencies as appropriate in collaboration with University Counsel.
Review and report on program effectiveness including continuous gap analysis, as appropriate to the appropriate campus leadership groups and partners.
Day-to-day operations for the Digital Accessibility program area
Work Location:
Hybrid - This position is eligible for a hybrid work environment. AMC OIT strives for a high-flex work environment, meaning although this role can predominately be executed effectively with a remote schedule, there may be instances where in-person meetings and/or activities are needed. There is no minimum or prescribed in-person requirement. The work schedule will be based around core working hours in Colorado Mountain Time.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Web Development, Business, Digital Communications, Educational Technology, or a closely related field
Experience:
2-4 years in web accessibility and digital accessibility remediation
A combination of education and professional-level work experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous Digital Accessibility experience.
One or more International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) Certifications: IAAP-CPACC, IAAP-WAS, IAAP-CPWA, IAAP-ADS, IAAP-CPABE
Strong understanding of assistive technology for digital environments
Hands-on experience implementing accessibility compliance standards in technical as well as advisory procedures
Experience working in higher education
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Broad knowledge of WCAG 2.1+ Levels A and AA standards and relevant accessibility guidelines and regulations, including HB21-1110
Experience with various accessibility testing tools such as Siteimprove
Experience communicating to a wide range of stakeholders
A self-starter with a can-do attitude
A collaborator with a focus on providing solutions based on the requirements and necessary outcomes of those whom we serve
Curiosity, motivation, and a desire for continuous learning
A belief that strong relationships are key to success
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
