We are currently seeking a Manger for Product Compliance and Approvals. The Manager of Product Compliance and Approvals will oversee and ensure that all products meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards prior to launch. This role is critical in managing compliance processes, conducting audits, and facilitating approvals with relevant regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a thorough understanding of industry regulations, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. This position works in a team environment at our home office in Newburgh, IN. This is not a remote position.
This position reports to the Director of Engineering.
Duties and Responsibilities• Reviewing and understanding the applicable standards required by Law in the US and Internationally that apply to Matrix products.• Maintaining the validity of existing regulatory certifications, listings, licenses, and registrations for products.• Maintain technical files, test reports, country certificates, declarations of conformity in a compliance database.• Performing gap analysis between old and new standards to determine testing or design changes required to meet the new standards and communicating the requirements to a cross-functional team.• Communicating with direct team and supervisor on approval status and research.• Communicate and work with certification bodies and agencies to obtain required certificates.• Coordinate with Engineering and Operations teams in updating product compliance documentation.
Qualifications & Competencies• Experience in Technical Regulations and Standards and/or experience in the design of electrical and electronic products.• Have demonstrated prior experience in certifying hazardous environment products to standards including MSHA, ATEX, IECEx, SANS.• Possess familiarity with import/export needs for regional requirements including CE, SANS, UKCA, RCM, etc.• Have experience with global wireless directives, like those maintained by the FCC, NOM, ANATEL, etc.• Additional familiarity with Intrinsically Safe designs for use in Explosive Atmospheres is highly desirable.• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.• 8+ years of experience in a related field.• 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role.• Experience in industry testing standards and requirements.• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Working Conditions• The working conditions will be in a climate-controlled office environment. The noise levels most times are nominal.
