We are seeking a skilled and experienced
Network Engineer
to join our team at Zachary Piper Solutions in supporting a government program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network design, implementation, and maintenance, with a particular focus on ensuring network security and optimal performance. You will be responsible for managing and troubleshooting network issues, as well as maintaining and enhancing our network infrastructure. This position is
fully onsite at Ft. Liberty and requires a TS/SCI.
Responsibilities:• Articulate the differences between EIGRP and OSPF routing protocols and demonstrate the ability to select the appropriate protocol based on specific network requirements.• Develop and execute a systematic approach to troubleshoot network issues that result in intermittent connectivity for users.• Demonstrate expertise in configuring and managing Cisco Adaptive Security Appliances, highlighting features implemented to bolster network security.• Outline the critical elements of a successful network design and explain how you ensure that your designs align with organizational needs.• Describe strategies for managing and mitigating network congestion, including the use of tools or protocols like QoS and NBAR to prioritize traffic.• Share experiences with server virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V, detailing how you manage and maintain virtualized environments.• Explain the measures taken to secure a network from unauthorized access and how compliance with security policies and procedures is ensured.• Discuss the approach to configuring and administering Microsoft Active Directory within a large enterprise setting. - Provide an example of implementing a VPN solution, specifying the type of VPN used and the measures implemented to ensure its security and reliability.• Detail experience with network monitoring tools like Solarwinds or NetMRI and explain how these tools are utilized to sustain network performance and security.
Qualifications:• Certifications in CCNA (required), CCNP (preferred), DoD 8570 IAT Level II (required), Level III (preferred), ITIL v3 (required), and DoDI 8570.01m (required).• Proven experience in enterprise email management using MS Exchange 2010 & 2013, Microsoft Active Directory administration, and Windows Server Platforms (2008/2012R2).• Expertise in server virtualization using VMWare VCP5 or Microsoft Hyper-V.• Proficiency in core routing and switching technologies such as EIGRP, GRE tunnels, InterVLAN routing, redistribution, ACLs, Multicast, QoS, NBAR, NAT, VPN, Layer 2/3 switching, HSRP, and Spanning Tree.• Familiarity with supplementary routing and switching technologies including TACACS, VoIP (Cisco Call Manager), RoIP (Wave), LAN/WAN optimization (Riverbed), monitoring solutions (Solarwinds/NetMRI), and encryption devices (KG175, KG250, etc.).• Experience with Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance.• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. - 3-5 years of relevant experience in network engineering.
Compensation:• $105,000-$140,000• Full Benefits (Medical, Dental, vision, paid holidays, and ect.)
