Job Purpose: The Purchasing Manager, under the direction of the Director of Procurement, is responsible for the day to day purchasing of parts and other goods & services for JX. This role will oversee the optimization of parts inventories across all locations. This role involves leading, mentoring, and developing the Purchasing team which places purchase orders, optimizes fill rates, ensures parts availability, and manages excess and aged inventory levels in collaboration with other departments. The Purchasing Manager collaborates with both branch and regional management to set inventory parameters in line with corporate directives. Additionally, the role focuses on identifying and implementing technological and process improvements to enhance productivity and profitability within the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Honor Commitments: Monitor all inventory control processes, including branch stock purchases, planning and parameter changes, excess inventory reduction and redistribution, and purchase order maintenance. Ensure timely and accurate placement of stock orders for JX branches, minimizing stock out situations and maintaining optimal inventory levels. Developing and utilizing existing metrics to understand current state and drive continuous improvement activities to make improvements within the organization. Create Positive Experiences: Initiate and maintain profitable supplier relationships, negotiating purchases, volume discounts, and developing new product lines to enhance parts availability and customer satisfaction. Optimization and balancing of cost vs benefit when establishing parameters. Collaborate with branch and corporate directives to set inventory parameters, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer needs.
