The Production Manager manages the planning and execution of all the pre-production and production stages, crew, equipment, and facilities used in all audio and/or video productions for KCBC, EMIC, KCM, and Victory Channel. They will develop and oversee a logistical plan and detailed schedule for the production in collaboration with producers and operational leads that satisfies the scheduling restrictions and is in line with the production/program timeline. Ther Production Manager will serve as a technical translator and advocate, helping all other departments and clients understand the processes and responsibilities of the broadcast department and how we can support their production needs. To be successful in this role, you will need strong project management and problem-solving skills, as well as experience with broadcast processes such as content producing, video production, audio mixing, motion graphics, crew positions, and Live productions and events. The Production Manager will also provide daily supervision and direction to production staff members that are under their direct supervision.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Oversee video and audio production, studio booking, crew booking, and equipment use ensuring optimal utilization, maintenance, and budget management.
•Hold meetings with Production Teams and Producers to ensure everyone is on the same page and has the most update-to-date information.
•Managing multiple programs simultaneously with overlapping schedules, facilities, and crew.
•Meet regularly with directors, producers, and/or leadership to learn about any changes and to report on progress.
•Work on-set on new or larger productions to be available to troubleshoot issues that arise
•Ensures production processes, concept, budgeting, technical gear allocation, and scheduling are completed.
•Manage a high degree of change and ambiguity, communicating project and schedule changes to the necessary personnel.
•Work with the Associate Production Manager to ensure all crew positions are booked and personnel skills meet the production requirements.
•Work with the Associate Production Manager to identify and solve any crew, studio, or gear overlap or gaps.
•Act as the primary liaison between Leadership, producers, and production crew, coordinating schedules and ensuring all needs are met with professionalism.
•Maintain the highest standards of visual and auditory quality, ensuring all productions adhere to brand guidelines and industry standards.
•Identify production issues or schedule conflicts and implement solutions and/or lead cross-departmental problem-solving conversations.
•Review, approve, and analyze production invoices and budgets.
•Communicate all crew changes, expense, and needs for remote location events to the appropriate departments.
•Lead, mentor, and develop a team of professionals, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Keeping production team (in-house and contractors) engaged and always growing.
•Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
•Assist in identifying, building, and creating new and effective processes and teams of production personnel under the direction of Senior Leadership.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
•High School Graduate
•Film or Television Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the industry required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience:
•5+ years of production experience in studio and/or remote production, postproduction facility, film industry, internet media company, or broadcast advertising agency
•7+ years of proven experience in a lead production crew role, within a Television Broadcast and Live production focused environment
•3+ years of employee management experience
•Expertise in creating and tracking schedules and budgets.
•Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
•Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with large-scale teams
•A working knowledge of in-studio, remote production, Live production, postproduction, and remote field photography processes, tools, and software.
•Strong business acumen, inciteful analytical skills, and superior organizational skills to manage through competing priorities within a matrixed environment.
•Able to manage the entire production intake process, including but not limited to working with creative and operational teams in communicating their needs, assigning jobs, scheduling personnel, and ensuring capability to deliver desired outcomes.
•Knowledge of Television Broadcast industry standards.
•Interpersonal relations: being approachable and good at managing people, looking after the welfare of people working on the production.
•Negotiation: confident at negotiating and managing a wide range of deals and contracts, ensuring everyone understands what needs to happen, when and why.
•Prioritization: knowing what requires immediate attention and finding quick solutions to enable the smooth running of a production, adapting to a fast-paced, changing environment
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
•Must be able to stand or sit for a minimum of seven hours per day
•Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted
•Requires Normal Range of Hearing and Vision
•Must be able to pull, push, stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, move or carry equipment

WORKING CONDITIONS:
General working conditions are similar to any other tele production facilities. As a key crew member will be required to travel throughout the US and overseas as KCM convention and broadcast acquisition needs dictate. Working conditions on remote productions are typical to such productions. Physical disabilities would limit one's effectiveness on remote production. Must be able to travel and be away from home for up to a week at a time, several times each year.
