ESS is hiring seasoned Senior Manager of Strategic Partnerships to manage a broad partnership with a global Fortune 100 partnership, covering both go-to-market and joint development activities.

Our focus is on large Long Duration Energy Storage Systems for both grid-connected and off-grid applications. Typical customers include power utilities, renewable energy developers and industrial companies. Long Duration Energy Storage is an emerging market, but essential for full decarbonization of electricity production. The Sales task therefore includes educating customers about the breakthrough properties of ESS' Iron Flow technology, working with customers' technical teams on determining the most effective technical solutions and developing financial / commercial analyses which demonstrate the life-time cost advantages for specific use cases.

Location: Open - but ideally in Portland, Oregon or less than a two (2) hour flight from Portland International Airport (PDX).

What You'll do at ESS.Serve as the overall coordinator for all commercial aspects of our relationship.Coordinate with technical teams and ensure appropriate commercial documentation / agreements on joint development activities.Drive joint GTM activities, including support of partner direct sales activities, development of sales materials / business case work and representing ESS technology in discussions partner sales contacts.Penetrating the multitude of applications / channels within the partner to ensure that ESS's solutions are included in all appropriate GTM efforts.Develop and execute sales plans to achieve sales targets and expand sales through the partner, coordinating partner forecasts into the overall ESS forecasting and business planning processes.Partner with Solution Engineers, Proposal Writers, Sales Analytics and Product Managers in Wilsonville, Oregon to develop materials required by the partner in their efforts.Provide 'voice of the customer' and 'voice of the partner' feedback to our product roadmap and development activities.Coordinate as needed with third-party solution providers to ensure a complete solution for the customer.What you bring to the table.

Demonstrated expertise in working with young, fast-growing customers in an emerging market space.Experience in selling energy-related technologies and solutions to power sector, renewables, industrial and commercial players.Demonstrated track record of working with large, complex partners to ensure successful outcomes for all partners.Ability to negotiate complex business arrangements to ensure ESS's interests are protected.Technical understanding of various energy storage, solar, wind and other distributed energy resource (DER) technologies.Analytical and technical rigor with strong business acumen.Strong ability to interpret customer business needs and identify and help unlock business value associated new technology.Ability to travel up to 50% of the time.Excellent presenter, with strong oral and written communication skills.Proficient with MS Office tools, including (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access).Bachelor's degree required, with preference to technical background and/or demonstrated history of selling complex technical solutions.
