This role will be based in Pennsauken, NJ.
WHAT WE NEED
The Finance Business Partner (Plant Controller) is responsible for managing the financial operations of the assigned manufacturing plant(s). This role will partner closely with plant management to provide financial insights, reporting, and analysis that drive operational efficiency, cost control, and profitability. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen, attention to detail, and the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams in a dynamic food manufacturing environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Financial Reporting & Analysis :
Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Prepare detailed variance analysis reports for key performance metrics such as labor, overhead, raw material usage, and yield.Monitor and analyze production costs, process costs, and product costs to identify areas for improvement.Develop key financial metrics and KPIs to track the plant's operational performance.
Cost Accounting & Analysis:
Perform and lead the cost accounting functions, ensuring accurate tracking of production costs and inventory valuation.Lead job costing and process costing initiatives, conducting financial analysis to support decision-making related to pricing, product development, and capital investments.Ensure the accurate generation and maintenance of plant-level standard cost master data.
Budgeting & Forecasting :
Lead the plant's budgeting and forecasting processes, including annual operating plans, capital expenditures, and long-term financial projections.Provide financial insights and recommendations to assist in the decision-making process for cost optimization and operational improvements.
Cost Management & Control :
Collaborate with operations, procurement, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate product costing, standard costing, and variance analysis.Monitor and control plant operating expenses to ensure alignment with financial targets.Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead initiatives to improve cost efficiency.
Inventory Management :
Oversee inventory management and ensure accurate valuation and reporting of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.Coordinate physical inventory counts and reconcile any discrepancies in inventory.
Compliance & Internal Controls :
Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and applicable regulatory standards.Maintain strong internal controls to safeguard plant assets and ensure the integrity of financial reporting, overseeing activities such as cycle and physical counts of raw materials, fixed asset accuracy, and spare parts inventory.Work with auditors during internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration :
Act as a financial business partner to plant management, providing guidance on financial matters impacting plant operations.Collaborate with corporate finance, operations, and supply chain teams to align plant performance with company goals.Train and mentor plant financial team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Capital Project Support :
Provide financial analysis and justification for capital projects and investments.Monitor the financial performance of capital projects and ensure alignment with budgeted targets.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration. Master of Business Administration (MBA) or MS Finance is preferred.5+ years of experience in financial management within a manufacturing environment, preferably in food, CPG or peripheral industry.Strong knowledge of cost accounting, budgeting, and forecasting in a manufacturing setting.Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel skills.Experience in a company that has an aggressive growth trajectory, including through merger and/or acquisition activities.Experience development financial strategy, delivering robust insights, and translating financial information to a palatable story that is meaningful across many layers of the business.Travel - 25%
At BRF, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is $130,000 to $140,000 annually.
