French Connection USA, a global retailer established since 1972, seeks (2) Associate Technical Designers focusing on woven and knitwear to work in our Full Price Design division.
Job Summary :
The Associate Technical Designer will support the Full Price Design team, primarily assisting the Production Technical Designer in creating easy to read woven and or knitwear technical packages, including construction details, complete and accurate technical drawings, spec sheets, testing requirements, packaging and labelling specifications.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, detail-oriented and resolution-minded team player, having excellent time-management skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
:Report to the Production Technical Designer by initiating technical packets including completion of Cover Page, selection of POMs, Construction Details and photographing and specing fit samplesAssist Design team with the specing, technical packet prep at Proto stagesEfficiency in PLM: Generate specs and manage styles in PLMTrack deliveries and receipt of samples in a fit listSend pre-sealer fit commentsOrganize a physical fit sample library and file fit samples appropriately and efficientlyAttend fit sessions with clear note takingMinor pattern corrections in Illustrator, ExcelVendor communicationQualifications
3-5 years of Woven & Knitwear apparel, technical design and patternmakingWorking knowledge of garment construction, fit and pattern correctionKnowledge of MS Office Suite, with a high proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and photoshopKnowledge of PLM a plusPassion for fashion industry technical designAssociate degree in patternmaking, technical design or equivalent professional experience
