Columbia, MissouriABOUT THE JOBThe Compliance Analyst will provide comprehensive regulatory and compliance-related audits for System departments, physicians, and other entities. Works closely with MU Health Care management and providers to identify regulatory risk areas and prioritize risks for education and ongoing monitoring, particularly in the revenue cycle areas.SALARY RANGE

Build an understanding of MU Health Care information systems, uses, and how the OCC can utilize the information for ongoing risk assessment, continuous monitoring of key controls, and data analysis.Maintain confidentiality regarding information obtained and researched within the OCC. Promote the OCC as the resource for coding and processes to maintain compliance with the various government regulations.May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSCertification in one of the following within two (2) years as a condition of continued employment in this job classification:--Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Professional Coder Apprentice (CPC-A), Certified Professional Coder-Hospital (CPC-H), Certified Outpatient Coding (COC), Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA), Certified Outpatient Coding Apprentice (COC-A) by American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC)--Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Associate (CCA), Certified Coding Specialist-Physician Based (CCS-P), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) by American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)--Certified Healthcare Compliance (CHC), Certified Compliance Ethics Professional (CCEP) by Compliance Certification Board (CCB)--Certified Compliance Professional (CCP) by Health Ethics Trust (HET)--Certified Public Accountant (CPA) by Missouri Board of Accountancy or another state board.--Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) by Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)--Other coding, billing, compliance, or auditing certifications by reputable certifying agencies are acceptable.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in business or health care related field.Work experience or certification in a clinical area.Equal Opportunity Employer
