WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:
Support the import/export department with customs and transportation matters
Perform basic order control duties including processing, printing, sorting and tracking customer orders
Prepare international export shipping documents including commercial invoices, trade compliance forms, free trade, and certificates of origin ensuring accuracy, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures; distribute to appropriate internal customers and pull samples of those documents when requested during compliance audits
Troubleshoot any transactional issues that may arise
Communicate with internal and external customers
Knowledge of the shipping process, which includes cross-training to cover critical roles within the Traffic area
Verify commercial invoicing coincides with incoterms
Retain detailed and accurate documentation for domestic and international shipping
Follow up with freight forwarders to obtain proof of export to meet document retention requirements
Import/export declaration filing (APAC/EMEA only)
Organize transportation; contact with carriers/brokers
Resolve transport complaints
YOU HAVE:
High school diploma or GED
Associate degree preferred
1-2 years of experience preferred in shipping, import/export
Excellent written and verbal skills
Must be tactful, considerate and courteous to all internal and external customers
Ability to achieve and deliver a high level of customer satisfaction
Excellent PC skills (Word, Excel, creating workbooks, etc.).
