Job Summary
Josselyn is seeking a skilled and dedicated EMR Systems Administrator to join our team. The EMR Systems Administrator will play a critical role in configuring, managing and maintaining our electronic medical records (EMR) software, overseeing organizational documentation, providing end-user support, and administering our Microsoft tenant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems administration, with a focus on healthcare IT, and a commitment to supporting our mission of providing high-quality mental health services.
Essential Responsibilities and Metrics
Electronic Medical Records (EMR) Administration:
Assist in managing, configuring, and maintaining the organization's new EMR software.
Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of patient data.
Train and educate healthcare staff on the proper documentation, coding, and use of health information system features and best practices during the initial implementation and support Clinical in ongoing training.
Provide support for EMR-related issues and work closely with staff to optimize the system's functionality.
Act as a liaison between EMR vendors' support and end-users, when necessary
Implement updates, patches, upgrades and future integrations to the EMR system as needed.
Stay updated on industry trends, advancements, and regulations in health information management and recommend appropriate changes and improvements
Train end-users in EMR best practices and new features.
Organizational Documentation:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
Assist in the creation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Document system changes, incidents, and resolutions to ensure a comprehensive knowledge base.
Assist
with
Microsoft Tenant Management:
Administer the organization's Microsoft 365 tenant, including user management, security settings, and application deployment.
Monitor and maintain the health and performance of the Microsoft 365 environment.
Manage licenses and subscriptions, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and budgetary constraints.
Implement and manage security protocols, including multifactor authentication and data loss prevention.
General IT Administration:
Monitor and manage network infrastructure, including servers, firewalls, and other critical components.
Collaborate with vendors and external partners to support IT operations and projects.
Participate in IT planning and strategy sessions to align technology with organizational goals.
Perform regular system backups and tests to ensure data recovery capabilities.
End-User Support:
Provide technical support to staff members, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
Respond to and resolve help desk tickets in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Assist with the onboarding of new employees, including setting up user accounts, configuring devices, and providing training.
Develop and maintain user guides, FAQs, and other documentation to support end-user training and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
3+ years of experience in systems administration, preferably within a healthcare environment, in a similar or larger organization.
Strong knowledge of health information management principles, practices, and regulations, including HIPAA and other privacy laws.
Experience with electronic medical records systems or similar software.
Certifications (RHIA, RHIT) a plus.
Experience with Streamline SmartCare is a big plus.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in administering Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
Strong understanding of network administration, including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPNs.
Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
Familiarity with IT security best practices, including data encryption and multifactor authentication.
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and support non-technical users.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
