Field Applications Engineers work as a part of the Laser Application Center group supporting industrial customers primarily at their facility for TRUMPF systems technologies. In this role you will be assisting the customer with production run-off support after machine installation, system programming support, training and post-sale applications support. You will be a part of a highly skilled team of laser and material experts. You will be traveling to different customers throughout North America and your goal is to provide best in class customer satisfaction.Field Application Engineer ResponsibilitiesField application support and training at customers facilitiesManage and execute customer application trials and demonstrations, including communication with customers, evaluating technical requirements, preparing, and processing customer applications, writing reports and following up with customersSupport complex application projects at the customer and at TUSDCommunicate directly with customers regarding applications and technologyAct as an internal consultant on materials science related to laser processingRoutine communication with Laser Application Center in TRUMPF Competence Centers regarding new applicationsSupport Regional Sales Managers and Industry Managers with strategic and key applicationsTaking responsibility for strategic applicationSupport applications in at least two different technologiesEscalation coordinationSupport customers on project developmentContribution on "info Application"TravelExtensive travel (up to 90%) to customers domestic & internationalEducation & ExperienceOperate and program TRUMPF equipment or have prior experience operating similar equipmentGood understanding on fundamentals of laser materials processing, including laser, process and material parameters, and laser safetyIndependently setup and execute application trialsWrite application reports, research reports and statements of workBasic understanding of mechanical and electrical machine dataSolve customer's problems independently2-5 years of relevant practical experienceTRUMPF is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
