Position Overview:
As a representative of Southwest Regional Maintenance Center (SWRMC) provide technical assistance on the Tactical Data Link (TDL) systems aboard U.S. Navy ships under the cognizance of SWRMC.
This position will work out of SWRMC, Bldg. 76 at Naval Base San Diego, and will receive daily work assignments from the SWRMC Branch Head. The job consists of providing assistance to the shipboard crews in the operation, inspection, problem identification, troubleshooting and maintenance of the installed TDL systems.
Position Responsibilities:
The candidate must have the ability to converse with all levels of shipboard crews along with the management personnel of SWRMC.
Familiarity and understanding of the Navy, shipboard and SWRMC safety and security requirements is required for all aspects of the job.
Working knowledge of:
Navy shipboard Combat Systems TDL Systems, Common Data Link Maintenance Systems (CDLMS)
TDL Command and Control Processor (C2P)
Joint Tactical Information Distribution Systems (JTIDS)
Multi-functional Information Distribution Systems (MIDS) On Ship (MOS)
USQ-125 Data Terminal Set (DTS)
Common Shipboard Data Terminal Set (CSDTS)
KG-40 Crypto Devices
Associated TDL equipment.
Completion of the Navy Basic Electronics School, ET A and C School is desirable.
Navy Instructor Training is desired.
Familiarity with the operation and understanding of the Navy test equipment is required.
Familiarity with a personal computer and the Microsoft Office applications are required.
Must be able to walk and climb stairs while carrying tools and various other utensils or manuals while on board the ships.
Position Requirements:
US Citizen.
Active Secret Clearance
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience with Navy shipboard LINK Systems and networking
Former Navy ET, TDL Subject Matter Expert highly desired.
Position is located in San Diego, California.
The hourly range for this position is $32.30- $39.50 based on experience.
