We are seeking a highly skilled Drivetrain Diagnostics Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Powertrain Service Engineering team, you will be responsible for developing software tools and methods to diagnose and repair complex drivetrain systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve drivetrain-related issues, and develop innovative solutions to improve vehicle diagnosability, performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Develop, validate, monitor, and maintain software tools and methods to diagnose and repair drivetrain systems, including: Automated Diagnostic based on vehicle data, Service focus in-vehicle user-interface to diagnose, repair and monitor the drivetrain system, Repair routines for drivetrain related Electronic Control Unit (ECU)Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve drivetrain-related issues, including: Field failure analysis and root cause identification, Development of countermeasures and corrective actions, Creation of clear problem statements for field issues and communicate top issues regularly to firmware and hardware development teamsDefine and implement on-board diagnostic methodologies and diagnostic alerts, considering third-party shop requirements and regulatory obligations.Develop and document troubleshooting and remote diagnosis techniques for Service Technicians, Technical Support Specialists, and Regional Technical SpecialistsConduct large-scale data analyses to triage drivetrain-related issues and identify trends and patternsReview user experience issues and deficiencies, and escalate them to development teams for firmware or hardware improvementsIdentify and propose product improvements to Drivetrain Hardware and Software Development teams to increase reliability, reduce service cost, and improve customer satisfactionRequirements
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience2+ years of experience in powertrain engineering, diagnostics, or a related field, with a focus on software development and troubleshootingStrong programming skills in languages such as C, C++, and PythonExperience with vehicle data analysis, including data acquisition, processing, and interpretationKnowledge of drivetrain technologies, including inverters and motorsFamiliarity with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, UDS, and OBD-IIStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a teamCompensation and BenefitsBenefits

$88,000 - $186,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
