What's the role?

As a Field Application Engineer, you get to work with an astonishing team that plays a vital role at Carl Zeiss IQS. Show case your skills and experience with process enhancement at ZEISS. The Field Application Engineer (FAE) will assist our customers and our Zeiss Sales team with pre-post-sales application engineering activities such as product demonstrations, proof of concepts (POC) and sales support. Further post sales activities such as helping customer with understanding and applying our hardware and software systems. This support can be provided in a variety of ways, including additional product demonstration, custom support classes, telephone, and on-site support. This important consultative role specifically always requires professional conduct and customer orientation.

Here's what you'll do:Plan, prepare and perform high quality customer demonstrations, both in-house and in the field as needed.Provide technical consultation to Field Sales personnel and our customers, network in matters relating to advanced applications and systems.Facilitate the flow and accuracy of technical information to the Field Sales force.Maintain a focus on advanced applications and new Zeiss IM technology.Support the introduction of new products into the North American Market.Provide technical after-sales support for customers to help ensure successful use of our systems.Provide field support for all Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology CMM and O-Inspect systems:- Respond to all customer related software/applications support questions- Respond to any Carl Zeiss Industrial Metrology department requiring software/applicationssupport- Aid with software and system testing in support of product developmentProvide applications expertise for necessary project related activities:- Respond to customer request which typically includes analyzing inspectionrequirements- Estimate anticipated Gage R&R results- On-site support of quoted application items.Ability to understand and support IT related issues:- Windows Operating System knowledge- Networking- Database managementDo you qualify?

A four-year degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Physics is required. Equivalent work-related experience may be considered.Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings.Must have an understanding of 3D mathematics and computer programming techniques in any of the modern scientific computer languages.Must have excellent verbal communication skills and be comfortable presenting technical information to small or large audiences.We have amazing benefits to support you as an employee at ZEISS!
