At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a Windows Systems Administrator, a typical day will include the following duties:

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Windows System Administrator will manage and administer Windows resources and infrastructure on a dedicated network on-prem and in the cloud. The ideal candidate is a hands-on System Administrator professional with significant experience in developing and deploying repeatable processes, tools, and infrastructure that enables the delivery of capabilities in a production environment. They must have strong, firsthand technical expertise in a variety of configuration automation, deployment, and continuous integration technologies and the proven ability to fashion robust solutions that can keep pace with the end users. They must be at ease working both independently and as a member of the team supporting a wide variety basic and complex computing configurations. This person should embody a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with a team to administer Windows-based cloud and on-prem hosts within the customer environment and in a repeatable and reliable manner Harden Windows systems in support of customer security controls, apply OS updates and patches, and manage the underlying hardware Mitigate all vulnerability findings from network scans Manage security and policy through the application of Global Policy Objects (GPO) Demonstrated ability creating and managing a virtual infrastructure, such as AWS, Azure, Hyper-V, or VMWare. Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in production systems and platforms. Troubleshoots complex problems and provide customer support for software systems and application issues. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement Coordinates security waivers and approvals Write and update technical documentation such as system documentation, processes and procedures. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, and work experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Hands-on experience with DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory integration Hands-on experience managing Windows Environments using Group Policy Demonstrated hands-on experience using scripting for task automation, data transfer, etc. Hands-on experience with managing systems through Remote Desktop Services DESIRED SKILLS

Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.) Experience patching and maintaining system's databases.(e.g. RDS, MySQL, Oracle, and/or Elasticsearch) Hands-on experience with Windows Backup and Recovery enterprise suites Hands-on experience with deploying Windows Server Roles Demonstrated hands-on experience with technologies like MECM Demonstrated hands-on experience with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) Demonstrated hands-on experience working with VMWare and/or Hyper-V for maintaining virtualized systems
