Job Summary
The Specialist - Sourcing evaluates and analyzes internal spend data and external market information to develop the strategy, global approach and management for the sourcing and spend management of assigned categories and suppliers.
Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesFunctions as the commercial and operational Supply Chain lead within assigned categories and supplier base with advanced level experience in defining, developing and maintaining sourcing strategies, supplier selection processes, and contract management practicesBuilds strong internal network amongst stakeholders (Technical Support Group, Engineering, Operations, and Global Supply Chain) with proactive participation in drilling equipment and tubular procurement planning, budgeting and procurement activities to ensure category strategies are implemented and supplier relationships are managed effectivelyPlays a key role in strategic purchasing and supply management plans and decisions as linked to the company's overall business vision and implements initiatives across multiple rigs and/or geographical locations and within the supply chain organizationProvides proposal support tied to business requirements including management of RFI/RFQ/RFP/RFB packages for execution of sourcing projects and management of category spendCollaborate ins cross-functional work groups in execution of strategic sourcing practices and projectsIdentifies negotiation strategies and objectives and manages negotiations for the achievement of the objectives. Provides creative insight into strategies for negotiations with suppliersDemonstrates strong knowledge of purchasing and service contracts and associated contract laws and identifies and interprets contract issues as they arise with Contract Management and Legal supportAligns supplier and contract metrics with corporate and/or departmental goals and objectives and manages supplier performance to meet goals. Strengthens supplier relationships and identifies and recommends innovative ways to increase value growth through improvements and measurements.Creates business case scenarios and impact analysis that drive functional or organizational directionActively identifies areas of improvement and maintains a success rate at improving supplier performance and spend management through specific criteriaTakes initiative and responsibility for effectively implementing and supporting change and drives change that aligns with strategic prioritiesTracks and drives continuous improvement in sourcing and purchasing efficiency by driving the use of preferred suppliers and increasing the usage of negotiated agreementsTravels to visit assigned offshore units, where permitted, as and when requiredPerform additional duties as necessary and participate in special projects as requiredQualifications / Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or related fieldInstitute for Supply Management CPM or CPSM certification preferredAdditional APICS CPIM, CIRM or CSCP, or IACCM certifications a plusMinimum 1 year's relevant work experience in Strategic Sourcing, Purchasing, Logistics, Materials Management, or similar experienceMinimum 1 years' experience in drilling or oilfield industrySkills & Experience
Knowledge of drilling equipment for offshore drilling environment, including knowledge of key suppliers, industry specifications and standardsAdvanced-level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and AccessExcellent analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skillsProficient in building and delivering business cases, presentations and managerial reportsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to communicate effectively across different levels of organization, departments as well as across different culturesAbility to gather and analyze/synthesize data, confirming its accuracy and adequacy as an integral part of the collective analysis/synthesis processKnowledge of financial accounting, purchasing and management systemsProficiency in Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level (use financial and logical functions; work with multiple worksheets and workbooks; edit and use macros; import and export information)Working knowledge of document control systems and databasesFluent in both English and Portuguese is required
