Information Security Engineer

Northland Controls is seeking a well-qualified Information Security Engineer "Info Sec", located in Chennai, India.

The Information Security Engineer "Info Sec" role is integral to our commitment to safeguarding our systems, networks, and data against cyber threats. Working in close collaboration with our IT and engineering team. The InfoSec position will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust security controls, policies, and procedures. Expertise in cybersecurity technologies and best practices will be instrumental in identifying, mitigating, and responding to security risks promptly and effectively. By maintaining the highest standards of security excellence, we ensure the trust and confidence of our clients and stakeholders in our ability to protect their valuable information assets.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or related field.

• years of experience in information security, with a focus on security engineering and operations.

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, standards, and frameworks (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, etc.).

• Experience with security technologies and tools, such as firewalls, SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, endpoint protection, and identity and access management solutions.

• Familiarity with network protocols, architecture, and security controls.

• Hands-on experience with vulnerability management tools and techniques.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional), CISM (Certified Information Security Manager), or equivalent are a plus.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• • Design, implement, and maintain security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, and encryption technologies.

• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability scans to identify security weaknesses and prioritize remediation efforts.

• Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

• Monitor security logs and alerts to detect and respond to security incidents, including malware infections, unauthorized access attempts, and data breaches.

• Investigate security incidents and conduct forensic analysis to determine the root cause and extent of the breach.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls and measures in new systems and applications.

• Provide security awareness training and education to employees to promote a culture of security awareness and compliance.

• Stay updated on emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity trends to proactively enhance our security posture.

• Participate in incident response drills and tabletop exercises to test and improve our incident response capabilities.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in computer science or information technology or related field.

WORK ENIVIRONMENT

This position is an in-office position.

WORKING HOURS

This is a full-time position, 40 hours a work week.
