Network Engineer

As SelectTech's Network Engineer, you'll be the architect behind our network infrastructure. You will use your knowledge in LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks. You will test and evaluation network systems to eliminate problems and make improvement.
What You'll Do:Maintain computer networks including mainframes, VPNs, routers and other physical hardware.Install and configure network equipment.Creating firewalls and updating virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected.Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for all systems.Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.Performing vulnerability assessments and required patching to ensure compliance with standard processes.Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.Suggesting improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability.
What We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.Three (3) years related experience required.Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required (or better).Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) is a plus, but not required.Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing network solutions.Strong knowledge of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPNs.Experience with Cisco IOS, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, 802.1Q), and switching technologies.Familiarity with network security principles and best practices.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Effective communication and collaboration skills.Knowledge of network monitoring and analysis tools.Must be able to qualify for a Secret Security Clearance
Preferred but not Required Qualifications:
Familiarity with General Dynamics encryptors, such as KG-175x and Sectera vIPer Secure PhonesKnowledge of cryptographic principles and encryption algorithms.Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards.Strong understanding of firewalls and intrusion detection/prevention systems.Security certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or TACLANE certification are a plus.Experience with other encryption technologies and solutions.Familiarity with government and defense industry security requirements.
