The Business Development Analyst 1 (BDA1) position exists to provide support to the Sr. Mgr., Business Development Analysis, the Business Services & Strategy team, and Focus on the Family’s ministry owners . The BDA1 will support the ministry in general research tasks, data management & accumulation, process management & coordination, and development & editing of reports & presentations. The BDA1 will also collaborate with the Business Services & Strategy team in managing financial processes through key ministry activities. The BDA1 will be accountable for monitoring ministry goals and budgets and providing business analysis of ministry activities.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintains a working understanding of Business Impact Centers and provides support and analysis of performance regarding ministry objectives
Contributes to the management of budget and data tracking for Business Impact Centers, including but not limited to:
Interact with Accounting to maintain appropriate GL assignment and description language (journal entries)
Engage appropriate Financial Service team to coordinate and/or assist in identifying information relating to projects’ financial (GL) activity
Manage ongoing changes to original budget
Track, record, and report expenses for designated gift satisfaction
Collaborates with ministry Reporting team for timely delivery of monthly Scorecards
Delivers and ensures accurate data on key reports, both for on-going and ad hoc analysis
Supports the Executive Director and Business Development & Strategy team in developing visual/data presentations for various audiences, including C-team presentations
Performs secondary research as needed for use in key analysis or Business Case development. Topics to be investigated may include competitive analysis and market opportunities
Engages with various internal teams and repositories to gather data: financials (including forecasts, actuals, and costs), Business Impact Center metrics, constituent impact, & program results. Compiles data into existing or custom spreadsheets, scorecards, or reports
Is responsible for accurate and timely delivery of monthly cost analysis for assigned departments
Delivers ad hoc analysis as assigned
Participates in the development and implementation of key processes for the Business Development team, ensuring efficient operations and timeliness of key deliverables
Under direction from the Sr. Mgr., BDA, supports ministry owners in development of business cases, including some research, coordination, writing and financial data entry
Participates in cross functional team assignments as required
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
May contribute to more advanced/higher level analysis for projects as needed
Pursues on-going continuing education regarding business development standards and strategic planning
Performs other duties as assigned
Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job:
Will coordinate cross-functional work in a matrix environment

Knowledge/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Business
3-5 years of experience in Financial/Business Analysis (or equivalent work experience)

Salary Range: $58,236 to $67,077/yr.
