is seeking an experienced, passionate and strategic Director of Development for a non-profit organization located in Salt Lake City, UT.

This person will spearhead and expand fundraising initiatives. This pivotal role is essential in ensuring this organization achieves its annual fundraising target of $6 million, with a personal responsibility for securing $3 million each year through new donor acquisition and stewardship of existing donors. The Director of Development will be instrumental in shaping the strategic vision of fundraising campaigns, enhancing donor relations, and implementing marketing efforts to elevate donor engagement and recognition.

This position is hybrid, with both remote/home based work and in-person work. Ideal candidates are located in Salt Lake City or the surrounding area for participation in events and meetings at or near our locations. Travel to work related events is eligible for mileage reimbursement.

This is a full time position Monday - Friday, with occasional evening and weekend work required. The role reports to the VP of Operations.

Fundraising Strategy and Management:Develop and implement a comprehensive $6M yearly fundraising strategy.Manage daily fundraising operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.Create and execute innovative fundraising campaigns in collaboration with the marketing team to boost donor segments.Donor Relations and Stewardship:

Personally responsible for bringing in $3M annually by cultivating new donors and managing major donors.Provide insights and updates to the Executive, Development, Marketing, and Finance teams regarding donor cultivation and stewardship.Ensure timely and appropriate donor recognition and appreciation.Organize and improve current stewardship efforts and develop strategic direction between marketing and donor relations.Campaign Development and Management:

Work directly with the marketing team to develop creative plans for digital outreach, direct response, and donor engagement.Oversee online giving channels, including monthly donor programs, one-time giving, and peer-to-peer fundraising.Develop and implement strategies for data capture, data measurement, and donor engagement.Events and External Relations:Support tours and other external events with partners as needed.Conduct prospect research and reach-outs to identify potential partners.Establish and maintain connections with corporate partners to create brand deals and philanthropic efforts.Collaboration and Communication:Collaborate with various teams to ensure cohesive and effective fundraising strategies.Provide regular updates and reports on fundraising activities, donor engagement, and campaign performance.Here's what you need to have...

Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Business, Marketing, or a related field.Minimum of 7 years of experience in development, fundraising, or a similar role within a nonprofit organization and proven experience with demonstrated success in achieving financial goals and performance standards through major and planned gifts using metrics and measurement tools.We will look for a proven track record of individually raising $3M annually in Utah or other region that is demographically comparable.Strong understanding of major donor prospecting, relationship building, cultivation, stewardship, and recognition strategies.Effective and motivating interpersonal skills, including relationship building and communication, in-person, over the phone, and via email with diverse groups of peopleAbility to develop and implement strategic plans and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Proficiency in using fundraising databases and online giving platforms (experience with Charity Engine is a plus)Passion for our mission and values, with a commitment to supporting the LGBTQ+ community.We are looking for someone who understands Utah philanthropy and can bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to lead fundraising efforts.Demonstrated success in organizing and effectively utilizing volunteer leadership (e.g., boards, committees) in effective foundation or fundraising practices.Effective public speaking and presentation skills.Preferred Qualifications:

Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP) certification as CFRE and/or FAHP.Fundraising experience in a healthcare environment.Demonstrated history of increased responsibility and progression in the fundraising profession.A demonstrated history of activity and awareness with local community needs and dynamics.Compensation package includes:

Salary: starts at $85,000 - $100,000 annual salary (depending on experience) + competitive bonus structureBenefits package includes Client medical (PPO or HDHP option), dental, vision plans and employer paid life insuranceHolidays: Thirteen+ paid holidays, including (MLK Jr., Juneteenth, and Indigenous People's Day), plus LGBTQIA+ activism days.PTO: 3-weeks (15-days)
