About the role:

The Director of Finance forms part of the Hotel Leadership team who collectively make key strategic and operational decisions for the Hotel and Residences. The Director is responsible for safeguarding the hotel/residential assets and financial resources to ensure that all are utilized to maximize profitability. Key to the role is providing timely and accurate financial information and counsel to hotel senior management (and ownership) and ensuring that the hotel operates within all related local and corporate policies and procedures and under the terms of the management agreement and any other applicable agreements (e.g. loan agreements). The Director is also responsible for the development of Finance staff to aid the future growth of the company.

This hotel will have a residential component and this position will oversee all aspects of the residential accounting. Responsibilities for residences will include but are not limited to homeowners' operating budget, residential CRM reporting and process, commission collections, contract administration, sales reporting, and general accounting procedures.

What you will do:Responsible for safeguarding the hotel assets and financial resources to ensure that all are utilized to maximize hotel profitability.Actively network within the community to attract potential candidates for recruitment purposes and understand the competitive market.Assist General Manager in establishing and/or enhancing policies, rules, internal controls, and safeguards.Continuously deliver the highest level of product with respect to financial reporting and analysis, internal control compliance and business management. Ensure this is done with both integrity and accuracy.Ensure that bank accounts are opened in consultation with owners with a bank of strong financial standing and if local rating services are available, they should be utilized for verification of financial strength.Ensure the preparation of a comprehensive monthly report of the entire financial results of the hotel in established corporate formats and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.Maintain files on all contracts, leases and agreements and ensure compliance with their requirements: ensure proper authorization has been obtained for all hotel specific contracts (including Engineering), leases and other agreements and competitive bids are on file where applicable and reviewed prior to execution of contract.As applicable, ensure compliance with all loan covenants and the balance of long-term debt is accurate and agrees to all supporting documentation and verified when payments are made.Maintain insurance policies and documentation.Fund capital reserves in a timely manner and as required by all governing documents.Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.Achieve a successful score on all internal audits.Ensure the proper billing procedures are in place for the asset and maintain a healthy accounts receivable aging.Closely monitor and effectively manage labor costs in compliance with applicable Employment Laws.Prepare forecasts and budgets as required by corporate office, management agreements, or Residential governing documents.Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in related position with Four Seasons or other organization.Four years experience as a hotel/resort Director of Finance preferred.Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language, Spanish is an asset, but not requiredMust have a thorough knowledge of all jobs in the Accounting area.Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all responsibilities and tasks.Must have a high degree of professional integrity, and be able to work in a safe, prudent and organized manner.Must have a commitment to follow all local and corporate policies and procedures.Minimum of BSC or BA in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting/Finance preferred.Benefits Four Season Employees Enjoy
