The Marketing department is responsible for all demand generation efforts by executing engaging campaigns, effective product marketing strategies, and attending client and trade-show events. The Marketing team is also responsible for promoting the PitchBook brand and managing internal communications.The Product Marketing Team at PitchBook is pivotal in executing go-to-market (GTM) strategies through impactful product launches that align with key business objectives. By leveraging deep knowledge on their product domain of coverage, core customer segments, and market, the Product Marketing Managers are tasked with driving product adoption and increasing engagement across the customer lifecycle in partnership with other Marketing teams through effective packaging, differentiated positioning, and value-based messaging. As a Product Marketing Manager focused on Competitive Intelligence, you will continuously monitor PitchBook's competitors, generate evidence-based actionable insights, and support roadmap decisions across the firm. This role involves close collaboration with Marketing, Product, Research, Data Operations, Strategic Partnerships, and our commercial teams to develop clear, monetizable market positions and effective competitive enablement content.The ideal candidate will be a proactive, analytical, and data-driven technical product marketer with expertise in SaaS product marketing and experience in financial data. They should excel at collaboration, innovation, and using data to create compelling messaging that reaches their target audiences.Primary Job Responsibilities:Monitor competitors' product and pricing strategies, capabilities, and launch activitiesGather and consolidate competitive intelligence from internal and external sourcesMaintain the company's central repository for competitive intelligence, serving as the single source of truthDevelop persuasive messaging and positioning to support all channel activities, including internal enablement and customer-facing contentSupport large-scale product launches and identify opportunities to implement competitive plays for commercial teamsProvide actionable insights to Product, Research, and Data Operations teams to strengthen PitchBook's competitive advantageConduct in-depth competitive analyses to understand the market landscape, identify opportunities, and mitigate potential threatsDiscover new opportunities for your domain and customer segments through market research, learnings from past launch programs, and promotion of new product and service featuresMonitor industry trends, competitors, and emerging technology relevant to your domain and customer segmentsDefine compelling product positioning and messaging that resonates with target customers and differentiates PitchBook in the marketplaceLeverage domain knowledge, customer feedback, internal expertise, and pipeline analytics to refine messaging frameworks, value propositions, use cases, and competitive playsDevelop and maintain a comprehensive "bill of materials" to inform positioning, messaging, and competitive strategies across the companyPartner with other Product Marketing Managers to develop GTM plans for new product launches and sales programs, identifying target customer segments, developing positioning strategies, and crafting messaging frameworksCollaborate cross-functionally to align on product priorities and ensure consistency in messaging and positioningUse customer insights and market research to inform go-to-market strategies and product roadmapsWork with Enablement, New Sales, Customer Success, and Learning & Development to create educational content and trainings, effective sales plays, and sales collateral to support sales, renewal, and expansion activitiesCollaborate with New Sales and Customer Success leadership to achieve pipeline goals by refining messaging and driving differentiationSupport the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviorsParticipate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

Skills and Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience5+ years of SaaS B2B product marketing experience. Financial services experience, particularly in financial data, is a plusDemonstrated ability to lead effective product launch and relaunch programs, contributing to improved market position and revenue growthStrong analytical skills with the ability to extract data-driven insights and present them clearly to various internal audiencesSkilled in managing stakeholders across departments to achieve shared goalsA critical thinker with strong problem-solving abilities who is comfortable working through ambiguity to find solutionsExcellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and a strong sense of urgency to ensure timely follow-throughExceptional written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a high level of attention to detailA resourceful self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable to changeCollaborative and team-oriented, thriving in a dynamic and evolving environmentExperience with marketing automation (preferably Marketo), CRM (preferably Salesforce), web analytics, and business intelligence tools (preferably Tableau)Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily

CompensationAnnual base salary: $84,000-$116,000Target annual bonus percentage: 10%

*Starting pay will be based on several factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be different ranges for candidates by location.Working Conditions:We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it's helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3+ days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day.
