Monday, October 21stOur client is a turn-key provider of data center installation services, is currently looking to add fifteen data center construction technicians to their team in the Northern VA market to assist with Hyperscale build outs. These are long term contract roles supporting various hyperscale projects. You will be working in construction environments building the infrastructure for a data center.
Data Center Construction Technician:
The primary responsibility is to support the installation of infrastructure and cabling materials related to data center builds outs.Cable infrastructure and Fiber rough inCage walls, hot/cold isle containmentCable management (dressing and labeling)Cable and Fiber terminationServer rack build out and rack elevationInstall fiber tray, ladder rack, Unistrut, basket tray customer equipment, and cabinetsMaterial receiving and hardware assemblyRead and follow blueprints set for installationFollow written and oral communication displaying professionalismFollow safety guidelines and protocols (Proper PPE, clean up jobsite, OSHA).Competencies/Skills:
Knowledge of basic hand tools and common hand-held power tools such as drills, hole saws, bandsaws, mesh cutters and crimpersKnowledge of cable installation practices including dressing, lacing, labeling, structured cablingCompetency with measuring toolsGood work ethic and a willingness to learnExperience:1-3 years of relevant job experience.Relevant job experience is described as job experience in a similar industry or job experience with similar essential duties
Required Tools:
Basic hand tools, Screwdriver (multi-Bit), Torpedo level, Tape measure, Snips, Pliers (needle nose and channel locks) , Cable stripper, punch down tool, modular plug crimper, Flashlight, Fish tape, Electrical tape, Impact driver, Various sizes of wood, metal and masonry drill bits, Various sizes and types of driver bitsPPE:
Safety Vest, Safety Glasses, Work Gloves, Hard Hat, Work Boots (Steel toe or composite)
