Responsibilities
We are looking to add a
VMware Systems Engineer/Administrator
to our MIDS Program's high performing team. This position requires a VMWare system administration and Windows system administration background in support of the IRS MIDS contract and will handle a variety of VMWare and Windows Admin responsibilities which include: configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining the VMware and Windows environment. This position is responsible for ensuring that all servers operate at optimum levels. The candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Should be comfortable working in a team environment and willing to work flexible hours.
On-call and after-hours support is a requirement of this position.What you will do:Experienced in large scale Production Support Server Environment
Handling Data Center Operations with Business & Mission Critical applicationsHandling escalated incidents or high critical ticketsPredicting Risk/Impact and Participating in Major ChangesReporting & Performance Dashboards with Capacity PlanningTechnical Team (5-10 members) & Vendor ManagementTechnical Transition & Documentation skillsDesign, Migration and upgrading of existing infrastructureAdminister VMware ESX VSphere Infrastructure and VSphere OS Performance tuning & managementProvide the root cause analysis on the major incidents/problemsMonitoring of logs and alertsPatch management and Antivirus managementH/W Troubleshooting & Vendor coordinationFirmware & BIOS UpgradeUnderstanding of capacity planning, performance monitoring & tuningShould have scripting knowledge for scripted installs, comfortable with using Virtual Center.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD. Additional years of experience maybe accepted in lieu of the degreeExperience with the following:VMware vCenterVMWare NSX experienceWindows Admin Windows and AD Admin,VMware /Citrix AdminInfra Performance and Optimization, Windows AdminAbility to conduct/lead oral status/technical interchange meetings with clients on small to medium sized engagementsStrong knowledge on VMware management toolsRemote system administration experienceIncident, Problem, Change ManagementConfiguration ManagementVirtual Machine management experienceManaging and Troubleshooting ESX Server SAN vSphere Capacity Planning & ForecastingVirtual Network/Storage Architecture and Connectivity planning experienceStrong knowledge of troubleshooting skills on Windows servers & VMwareFamiliarity to Linux environmentStrong knowledge of Storage & Networking conceptsMust be a US CitizenMust have resided in the U.S. three of the last five yearsMust be able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance
