Koniag Professional Services, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a skilled Technical Guidance Analyst (TGA) to join our team supporting the Department of Energy (DOE) in the preparation of classification guidance and classification/declassification policy documents. The TGA will work under the direction of a Senior Technical Guidance Analyst (STGA) and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, DOE orders, and DOE Office of Classification (OC) procedures for Restricted Data (RD), Formerly Restricted Data (FRD), National Security Information (NSI), and Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information (UCNI).
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Assist with the preparation of classification guidance and classification/declassification policy documents in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, DOE orders, and DOE OC procedures for RD, FRD, NSI, and UCNI.
Determine whether information is classified or UCNI or other Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor's degree in engineering or physical science from an accredited college or university.
Top-Secret clearance required
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to read and understand written English at or above academic grade 15 level, as demonstrated by the Nelson Denny reading assessment or equivalent.
For promotion to this position, an individual on the contract must be certified as a current DOE Derivative Classifier (DC).
After the transition period, the individual must qualify as a DC and UCNI Reviewing Official (RO) within ninety (90) days of the first day on the contract and meet DOE requirements to qualify as a Derivative Declassifier (DD) within twelve (12) months of hire.
At least one (1) year of experience in conducting classification reviews in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, DOE orders, and DOE Office of Classification (OC) procedures for RD, FRD, NSI, and UCNI.
Proficiency in reading and comprehending technical documents related to classification and declassification.
Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, DOE orders, and DOE OC procedures for RD, FRD, NSI, and UCNI.
Attention to detail and accuracy in conducting classification reviews.
Desired Skills and Competencies:
It is highly desirable for the individual to be qualified as a DOE DC at the time of hire.
It is desirable for the individual to have one (1) or more years of experience as a DD, with one (1) or more years performing bracketing reviews.
Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
