Job Description
Must Haves:
- BGP routing experience as well as solid Cisco switch experience both nexus and catalyst.
- Basic Nexus switching knowledge
- We need someone that can work unsupervised and provide the needed backfill of knowledge to the junior guys (take over when they can't resolve stuff).
- Cisco CCNP should be the minimum certification level
Plus:
o Cisco/Fortinet Firewall experience
o Cisco Wireless and Juniper Mist Wireless experience
o Juniper Router configuration experience
What we are looking for with the Senior Engineer position:• We are looking for candidates with really solid BGP routing experience as well as solid Cisco switch experience both nexus and catalyst.• Basic Nexus switching knowledge• Pluses would be:
o Cisco/Fortinet Firewall experience
o Cisco Wireless and Juniper Mist Wireless experience

o We are not usually hung up on certs, but it is frustrating to have candidates with these certifications and they cannot even do the basics in our candidate lab.• Please stress to the candidates that there will be a lab test where they will have to perform layer2 and layer3 functions as well as have basic nexus switching knowledge to pass.
o Remember that we give then one (1) hour to perform the labIf they are uncomfortable with the lab, then they should just be weeded out/rejected. This position consists of hands on configuration work as well as intensive troubleshooting in a healthcare environment.
The Senior Network Engineer, under general supervision, oversees and participates in the purchase, installation and implementation of LAN/WAN systems, firewalls/IPS, and enterprise wireless networks. Requires in depth, hands on knowledge of the following areas: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs/Spanning-Tree, high-available network topologies, VoIP, QoS, data center infrastructure, cloud infrastructure (Microsoft Azure) and security/encryption technologies while adhering to standard design methodologies and best practices.
Knowledge of multiple vendors portfolios: including Cisco (routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure), Juniper (routers and wireless infrastructure), Fortinet (firewalls) and VMWare (SDWAN infrastructure).
Perform detailed problem analysis and troubleshooting, leading the effort to solve problems collaboratively. Provides work leadership and training to junior network engineers. Provides project management leadership for technical network design and implementations.
