Kforce is working with a retail client that is looking to hire a Java Backend Engineer for a 10 month project. This is a hybrid role that will start remote, but the Java Developer will be asked to go onsite a couple of days in either Pleasanton, CA or Dallas, TX.

Responsibilities:The Java Developer will collaborate with Architecture, DevOps Engineering and Support, Project Managers, and other Business/IT teams in finding solutions to meet business needsDesign, implement and support highly scalable solutions to integrate pharmacy and health platformsHands-on full lifecycle engineering responsibilities (build, installation, configuration, upgrades, testing, deployment and performance tuning and optimization and documentation)Assist in troubleshooting production support issues and be available as needed to support the teamAs a Java Developer, you will investigate and resolve performance issues in a timely manner

Required Skills : * 4-year degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, or related functional field) and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience * 8 years of hands-on programming and integration experience (Server frameworks, relational databases, REST APIs, and related technologies) * 8 years of hands-on experience in developing software applications using Java, Spring Framework * Experienced in designing and developing Microservices applying Reactive patterns * Experience delivering secure, scalable, resilient solutions based on Java Spring frameworks and Kubernetes services * Experience in creating/implementing microservices in a cloud technology environment * Experience building consumer facing solutions and building applications on the public cloud * Experience in Microsoft Azure, DevOps and CI/CD tools * Experience with Linux/UNIX systems and the best practices for deploying applications to those stacks * Ability to frame key solution design elements from broader functional and technical requirements; Strong emphasis on Testing, Quality and Automation * Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools * Strong organization skills with good interpersonal skills * Knowledge of scalability, security, and maintainability of high-volume Internet applications * Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills * Ability to work independently, communicate effectively and collaborate with development team members remotely Kforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
