Overview
As an Environmental Engineer/Scientist and Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll work with our seasoned consultants to assist our manufacturing, energy, solid waste and natural gas clients in navigating and complying with continually changing and challenging environmental regulations. You'll perform tasks such as environmental permitting (water, waste, hazardous materials), compliance audits, and compliance reporting. This position may include field work consisting of environmental monitoring/sampling of waste, soil, groundwater, and stormwater. You'll interact with clients, contractors, and local government officials to impact the entire project from conceptual and design phases through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction. Travel may be required.
Qualifications
Qualifications B.S. in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science or related Earth Sciences (MS a plus); Environmental compliance and permitting experience. Experience independently completing projects from proposal to final report preparation and managing and developing professional staff. Experience with preparing SWPPP and SPCC Plans, annual EPCRA Tier II and TRI reporting, Chemical Data Reporting under TSCA, general and individual NPDES permitting for stormwater discharges, NPDES permitting for industrial discharges, and hazardous waste management. Ability to speak and write professionally; Ability to manage multiple simultaneous aspects of projects independently including internal project team, client and regulatory personnel; and Ability to deliver consulting services to clients in an expeditious and efficient manner. Preferred P.E. licensure a plus; Knowledge of PA, OH, WV regulations, and Federal multi-media regulations; Experience with aboveground storage tank installation requirements and inspections a plus; Air permitting experience a plus; Business development and client interactions skills; Experience mentoring and developing junior technical staff; and Experience working on a variety of industrial sites and working within strict client-mandated safety protocols.
