CMS is currently looking for anAssistant Project Manager (APM) – CIVIL intheirMaumee, Ohiooffice.
The Assistant Project Manager will:
Assist the Director, Program Managers, Project Managers, Field Management, and Senior Management in all aspects of the execution of construction projects including the planning and coordinating of technical, business, and administrative activities on designated opportunities and/or projects; Work closely with the Project Manager(s) and Field Management Teams to ensure successful completion of projects within the applicable schedule, approved budget and contractual requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)
Create a project startup checklist, schedule kick-off meetings, and follow up on deliverables
Setup file structure on company system for project use
Setup and maintain a project tracking system
Assist in creating, editing, and tracking all project-related documentation
Review specifications to create, edit, and maintain submittal register to ensure submittal requirements are followed and the submittals required are appropriate for the project; work with the Project Manager (PM) or Quality Control Manager (QCM) to clarify with the client applicable project submittals
Create and/or coordinate all pre-construction submittals to include, but not limited to: Contractor Quality Control Plan, Accident Prevention Plan, Demolition Plan, Environmental Protection Plan (may include Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan), and Waste Management Plan
Generate all project submittal documents (Designer of Record and/or Client) and send to QCM for approval (i.e. Eng 4025 forms, etc.)
Assist project team with documentation as needed assist in drafting subcontract(s) for PM review
Follow up with material/equipment vendors and subcontractors on project deliverables ensuring compliance with contract specifications; including but not limited to submittal tracking, product data, and project closeout documents
Assist in entering budgets into the accounting program and changes as approved by the Accounting Department
Create Requests for Information (RFIs)
Process and track Client and Subcontractor/Vendor change orders
Assist in generating project closeout documents and ensuring contract requirement compliance
Create, update, and distribute Project Meeting Agendas and Minutes
Assist in compiling information for the project summary upon completion of the project with the Proposal team
Assist in generating the DD1354 forms (transfer of ownership) for client review and approval, before turning over the project
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering and 1-2 years of related Civil Infrastructure and/or Airfield experience including working on a project site; or
An associate’s degree in construction management or engineering and a minimum of 3 -4 years of related Civil Infrastructure and/or Airfield experience including working on a project site; or
A High School diploma and a minimum of 6 years of related Civil Infrastructure and/or Airfield experience including working on a project site
Requirements
Ability to accurately organize, prioritize, plan, and complete all job responsibilities
Ability to assume responsibility, achieve assigned goals, and work effectively with others
Ability to professionally communicate in English, both verbally and in writing to clients, vendors, and subcontractors
Excellent interpersonal skills are essential
Knowledge of construction or other related technology, scheduling, procedures, project plan and specification reading, and equipment are required
Proficient in Microsoft Office/Office 365 Applications
Demonstrates ability to work independently
Demonstrates ability to maintain a high level of organization and an eye for details
The candidate must be capable of interpreting a critical path schedule and construction drawings
The candidate must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills and be organized to manage the construction process and work as a team
Willingness to embrace personal and professional development
Ability to effectively work with a team to achieve project goals
Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, and a thorough understanding of construction documents
Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable under the company auto insurance program
Supervisory Responsibilities
Works under the direction of the Director of Operations
Working Conditions
Regularly required to sit or stand, bend, and reach
Ability to lift up to forty (50) pounds and walk a project site with potentially rough terrain
Must meet the eligibility requirements for access to US Government facilities
Position will require travel to project sites globally
