Senior Trial Paralegal

We are looking for a
Senior Paralegal
to join our Trial department in the Salt Lake City office. As a key member of Dorsey's client service teams, you will collaborate closely with attorneys, co-counsel, and clients on an array of substantive legal matters. This position has the opportunity for a hybrid schedule after an initial in-office training period.
In this role, you will:
- Assist attorneys with litigation processes from pre-trial through post-trial procedures, including document analysis, legal theories and strategies, factual and legal research, trial preparation and attendance.- Apply in-depth knowledge of legal procedures, electronic discovery and document management, terminology, and activities to paralegal tasks. Serve as senior resource for procedures and legal specialty, and organization policies.- Manage large volumes of documents and data, working as a team with attorneys.- Locate and review information applicable to a particular case, person, or subject through online research or document reviews.- Review, organize, hyperlink and maintain document databases and spreadsheets for case tracking, discovery, and document production.- Draft original correspondence and materials for communication under attorney's signature. On a limited basis, draft original correspondence, within the ethical boundaries of a paralegal position, to various parties and clients for own signature.- Communicate with clients, government agencies/officials, consultants, and various other parties on a regular basis to collect and assemble information. Communicate findings to attorney; communicates as agent of attorney.- Fact cite-check and proofread briefs and legal documents.- Prepare, send, and track subpoenas.- Work effectively as a team with business professionals and attorneys to collaborate and provide exceptional and efficient client service.- Organize, monitor, and maintain multiple projects, as needed.- May perform other duties not listed above.
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate or equivalent experience.- At least 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal.- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.- Proficiency with Excel spreadsheets and data manipulation.- Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize and exercise independent judgment. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage a large volume of detailed tasks.- Ability to work with all levels of personnel in a professional manner.- Advanced understanding of Federal, State and local rules of procedure and court filing procedures, both electronic and hard copy.- Experience with preparation related to hearings, depositions, trials, arbitrations and mediations.- Strong oral and written communication skills.- Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines both individually and in a team environment.
Preferred:
- Practical knowledge of litigation related software and databases, including Nuix and OnCue.
