In this hybrid role, you'll combine project management and field technician responsibilities, including commissioning, diagnosing, and repairing environmental control systems. You'll utilize your expertise in electronics, DDC, airflow, hydronics, refrigeration, and control techniques. You may also take on hardware and software design for small building automation systems.

Responsibilities:

Oversee end-to-end testing, downloading programming, project startup, and commissioning.

Plan and analyze project parameters, establish schedules, and implement procedures for complex contracting applications.

Collaborate with contractors and owners to discuss project scope, budgets, performance metrics, and project close-out.

Conduct risk analysis by reviewing contracts and estimates, developing risk mitigation plans.

Maintain project budgets in line with forecasts and financial objectives.

Prepare subcontractor Requests for Quotations (RFQs), including scope statements, schedules, specifications, bonding requirements, and billing structures.

Evaluate and qualify subcontractor proposals; supervise project staff, subcontractors, and installers.

Manage project cash flow, including progress billing, collections, and resource allocation.

Handle change order management by recommending solutions, facilitating quotes, and finalizing orders.

Record and manage costs related to parts, materials, and labor; return unused resources as necessary.

Document project activities through daily logs, progress reports, and organized file maintenance.

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in HVAC, BAS or other related field, or equal certification and work experience, and typically at least 4-8 years of experience in HVAC/Controls. Technical School or formal training is preferred

Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software and working proficiency with handheld computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad)

Knowledge of low voltage electricity, electronics (board level troubleshooting), direct digital controls, and building control techniques

A desire to push for personal growth along with aiding for others to grow and develop

Ability to stay organized, communicate in a timely manner

Must possess a valid driver's license for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations.

Additional Requirements and Environmental Exposure

Safely and legally operate a vehicle while using a seatbelt.

Wear appropriate safety gear, including helmets, goggles, fall protection harnesses, and safety boots, to perform job duties.

Twist the trunk of the body 90 degrees in each direction.

Squat and touch the floor with both hands.

Reach overhead with both hands.

Stand on concrete surfaces for extended periods, typically up to 4 hours.

Engage in physical activities that require frequent use of hands, walking, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders. Must lift or move up to 10 lbs. regularly, up to 40 lbs. frequently, and occasionally over 40 lbs.

Safely use a ladder with a 350 lb. total weight limit while carrying equipment weighing 50 lbs. or less.

Maneuver in confined spaces as small as 30" vertical by 45" horizontal.

Access rooftops comfortably using extension and/or fixed ladders at heights of 15' to 20', and occasionally up to 50+ feet.

Work in variable weather conditions and around moving mechanical parts, heights, electrical hazards, noisy equipment, and other environmental factors.
