QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or GED.Must be 18 years of age.Ability to use a personal computer.Clear and valid Texas commercial driver's license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.Ability to learn and become proficient in the use of software and programs utilized by the Transportation Operations division.Ability to support and train part-time driver charters assigned to the division.Ability to read and understand documents including District policies and department guidelines.Ability to pass alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam, and maintain required bus certification.Effective organizational, communication (verbal and written), and analysis skills.Ability to safely operate a school bus.Two years of experience as a school bus driver is preferred.One year's experience routing in public schools is preferred.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

250 days

SALARY/PAY GRADE:

$ 47,945 (BA-1)

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the 2023-2024 school year.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Responsible for the routing and scheduling of the district's 118,000 students, 92 campuses, and the department's 1,100 school buses and over 1,000 employees.Develop and maintain the over 2,000 individual bus runs for the department to ensure safe, timely, and efficient routes in accordance with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and CFISD policies and procedures.Ensure efficiency by frequently evaluating the entire department's routing program, directly impacting the multi-million-dollar budget of the Transportation Department.Develop and oversee the planning of all Transportation Department routing, including regular programs, special education, special programs, McKinney Vento, and others.Effectively communicate all routes, plans, and modifications to the transportation staff, parents, students, school personnel, and community members.Ensure all routing needs are being met in a timely manner for six transportation centers.Provide regular and consistent support to transportation center staff regarding the specialized needs of students on assigned routes.Attend student IEP meetings at campuses as needed to ensure the transportation provided meets the individualized needs of the student.Regularly drive created routes as needed to ensure proper route planning, timing, and safety.Maintain necessary documentation and data to ensure proper reporting to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for the Route Services and Operations report.Provide support and training to the driver charters assigned to the division, including specialized training, to ensure efficient and effective routing and time management.Recommend school bell schedules, boundary changes, and other administrative tasks as necessary to ensure the district is operating effectively and efficiently.Participate in the assignment process of driver charters in the operations division.Compile, maintain, and file all physical and electronic reports, records, and other documents required.Serve as a bus driver as required.Perform other duties as assigned.
