Overview SUMMARY:

Lead the Transportation and Fleet operations across the entire organization and develop a comprehensive strategy for servicing the PetroChoice network.

Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations Management responsibilities:

Overall responsibility for Fleet Vehicle Maintenance and Transportation budget management.

Optimize the PetroChoice network between Fleet asset and contract carriers, driving improvements in cost, service and shipment visibility.

Partner with Operations, Dispatch, Procurement and Sourcing to increase utility and utilization of PetroChoice vehicles.

Own the PetroChoice freight spend driving cost improvements annually.

Execute mode conversions to reduce freight expenditures. Ensure best mode is used on all shippments.

Establish fleet & transportation strategies, develop budget and cost controls, and obtain data regarding types, quantities, and delivery dates of products ordered.

Improve Fleet up-time and reduce maintenance costs through Preventive Maintenance schedules and adherence.

Manage and Improve Fleet and Transportation KPIs.

Drive improvement in OTP, loaded fleet miles, and carrier acceptance.

Build, grow and maintain strong relationships with all PetroChoice shipping partners.

Lead the Petrochoice RFP process for 3rd party freight.

Partner with Inventory to develop a robust inbound and transfer process to reduce inventory and increase fill rates.

Train and ensure all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.

Vendor selection and management of all vehicles for the company.

Disposal of old fleet/equipment

Development and execution of truck replacement schedule and associated Capex budget.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Lead a team of employees focused on internal and external transportation operations.

Manage Fleet and Transportation 3PLs.

Travel:

Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong knowledge of DOT regulations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university with 10 years related experience in Fleet and Logistics Management (preferably wholesale distribution); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATIC ABILITY:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software, Inventory software and experience working in an enterprise wide system. Experience working in and ERP environment is desirable.
