Job Summary
Parkhurst Dining is looking for a student committed to improving food systems on campus. The Sustainability Intern will assist on advancing campus wide sustainability initiatives. Potential responsibilities may include designing campus campaigns in collaboration with the social media intern, increasing transparency of food systems on campus, designing and implementing structures to build relationships between students and food service staff.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
Work closely with the Parkhurst management team by calling out standard operating procedures that could be adjusted to be more environmentally friendly.Actively promote food waste reduction and compostable collection for all dining facilities.Work on converting all on-the-go packaging to compostable alternativesAssist with organizing and communicating local and sustainable luncheons or dinners as part of the sustainable development goals integration.Minimum Requirements
Strong understanding and desire to communicate via social mediaAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to prioritize workProblem-solving aptitudeStrong computer skills, MS Office, Excel, Outlook and Access
