Posting Summary
Identify, enroll and support eligible farm workers in the Migrant Education Program ( MEP ) to strengthen farmworker programming’s capacity to connect with and effectively implement education services, activities, and projects for farmworkers living in Vermont. Facilitate educational services for enrolled students utilizing judgement to prioritize work. Functions with minimal daily supervision, while working in collaboration with a statewide team of outreach professionals and program coordinators to support programmatic objectives. Communicates with people with limited English proficiency using Spanish language skills and interpretation services as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
High school diploma and two to three years’ related experience required. Proficient in Spanish/English with ability to demonstrate cultural humility. Ability to effectively facilitate and coordinate access to educational services. Effective interpersonal and communication skills required with experience and capacity to work with diverse audiences. Ability to use judgment in prioritizing and responding to competing work demands. Proficient computer skills. Willingness to travel within Vermont and work a flexible schedule which at times will include evenings and weekends.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience with rural farm/agricultural families and/or disadvantaged populations highly desirable. Familiarity with Vermont public school system is desirable.
Anticipated Pay Range $21 to $24 per hour
Other Information
This position will be located in the UVM Extension’s South Burlington, St. Albans, or Morrisville Office locations.
Extensive travel throughout various areas of Vermont.
Travel may be at times in inclement weather.
Must be able to work occasional odd hours and weekends.
Overtime eligible but not required.
Special Conditions Position located in different city, Weekend work required, Non-standard work hours required, Contingent on continued funding, Bargaining unit position, External candidates must complete a 4-month probationary period, Occasional evening and/or weekends required (if non-exempt position, may result in overtime), Travel to and from worksites required, This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with an option to split time between campus and elsewhere, in accordance with the university telecommuting policy, Background Check required for this position

Union Position Yes, UVMSU ($20 minimum hourly rate)
