The Project Management Office is looking for a Project Manager to assist with two efforts. The first is to support the State of Maine postal agency as they intend to replace its current inserter equipment and set up with two new, modern inserters, new anti-fatigue mats, and new processes to be introduced over coming years to reduce overhead and improve efficiency and enable new capability for agencies, including 2D barcode capability, permit printing instead of meter, and other improvements. The second is to support Maine Surplus Property with Central Services with their implementation of AssetWorks.

Project Managers support a broad portfolio of Maine's strategic initiatives, supporting all sixteen agencies under the Executive Branch. As a member of the Project Management Team, you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic group of internal/external business and IT partners and be accountable for leading project teams to achieve their deliverable goals on time with a high level of quality. This position will be responsible for several concurrent projects spanning multiple agencies, offices, and teams, from impact assessment through to implementation, using defined project methodologies such as Agile, and requires the use of independent judgement, initiative, and discretion.

Required Skill Set/Skill Level/Experience• Any combination of education or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree with five years of project management experience.• In depth knowledge/understanding of the PM methodology and a broad understanding/awareness of SDLC methodologies.• Strong understanding of government organization is preferred.• Strong ability to work effectively in a business and technical environment.• Effectively uses technical project management tools.• Strong initiative and ability to set stretch goals.• Strong ability to negotiate effectively with business and IT partners on business requirements and timeframes on mid-size initiatives.• Strong ability to rally support among peers and work effectively within challenging situations.• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to balance the need to gather detail with the need to solve the problem.• Strong ability to identify and apply different communication mediums based on a content and audience at all levels (both internal and external toMaine gov) to achieve intended goal.• Advanced PC skills required (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.) Preference given individuals that have experience with managing Vendors
